I was hanging out in the back court area as halftime was going on and a man in a letterman's jacket approached me and asked who I was, what I did, how long, how'd you end up here, just question after question. It was strange because most people come up to me about ticket packages or where the closest bathrooms are. Not Dan.

He captivated me instantly as a man, not a salesman. He cared more about who I was and what I did than any package I had ready to go. He demanded the same from me. I quickly learned a lot about Dan and what he meant to Syracuse, and what it meant to him.

From briefly knowing the man he showed me how you are supposed to act toward others. It sounds corny but I don't care. Orange Eyes if you can see this please know, I'd be lucky to leave half the impact you have left here in Syracuse. Thank you and rest easy my friend.
