Lacrosse's selection Sunday arrives this weekend, with the five members of the NCAA selection committee deliberating in Indianapolis and constructing the 18-team field that will open postseason play on May 6.
The committee undergoes some change every year, as members rotate on and off, but the task in front of it is not fundamentally different than a year ago. The field is the same size, and the committee faces the same financial constraints it has for quite some time.
Still, a refresher course prior to Sunday's selection show (9 p.m., ESPNU) is in order as automatic qualifiers Colgate and Syracuse, Ivy League contender Cornell and the rest of Division I await word on their postseason destinations...
