Their careers with six drives ending in TDs?

An amazing stat.

I get flashbacks to someone leading us down the field against UNC.

How many QB's for SU have thrown six pics in the first two games

and yet we're still not sure who will be our QB

amazing

Are you sure that SS isn't sure right now? I'm just assuming coach speak.

We as the board? I'm confident we'll find something to be negative about. This fits the bill.

Or the team? I bet they heard last night or today that Hunts the guy. And that Allen may get some time vs Tulane.

Absolutely true. Or at the other end of the bipolar spectrum, after two and a half quarters at the helm playing against very weak competition, some have declared that Hunt is better than Nassib.

I've always pulled for Hunt because his story is so compelling, but I think we need to temper expectations and the comparisons until we play a real college football team. He appears to have the savvy and pocket presence necessary to do very well but there will be bumps in the road along the way. My gut tells me that he navigate the obstacles efficiently and become a solid QB. After all, playing QB for a storied college football program is easy compared to the twists and turns that life has dealt this young man.

Btw, anyone that took the time to listen to HCSS's post game presser would know that he stated he'd be surprised if TH didn't start the Tulane game.

Well the next thing you know for sure, assuming they take care of business is against Tulane, is the "well if Hunt had started against PSU and NW we would have had done better against Clemson".

No doubt and I bet some already have their drafts written. Some might include "we'd be 4-0 going into the Clemson game if Hunt started from day 1".

There is already a thread about that somewhere. Instead of "Wow! We have a competent QB!" it was "What's wrong with our staff that they couldn't see Hunt was better?"

I blame the snow and gray skies.

I'm sure who should be. I'm not sure the coaches are sure who will be. And that's why I'm amazed.

I know this may come across crazy, but boy could our program use a shot in the arm, and to think how crazy it would be if Syracuse Football stumbled upon that shot with Mr Hunt. What IF, he provides us with a Johnny Football type experience?? Now I am not saying he can/will be a Heisman winner, but more in that, IF he could just make happen, like Manziel does. Play falls apart, he scrambles a bit, steps up in pocket etc, and makes something out of nothing.

A guy can dream, this program def could use the pub.

That was me, it was pretty stark.

The gray skies or? ;)

I'm all for critical looks at decisions - but that post had the most replies, likes, etc. Bums me out. The kid, against bad competion looked like the 2nd coming of some of our best QB's -Graves, McNabb, etc. The coaches looked prep and arm and pedigree and those are not bad things to look at when a player wins the job. He didn't have it on the field, while Hunt does.

It's possible that the criteria leading up to the season pointed to Drew then and on field performance leads to Hunt now - without the coaches being incompatant.

Some day we will find out what happened in the weeks leading up to Week 1. How people played in scrimmages...how people practices...the work they put in (or didn't put in)...who saw what...who didn't see what they wanted to see. It is the story of the season so far, just as SU scrapping their offense for the quick-paced no huddle O was the story last year. Eventually it will come out.

But wait...haven't you heard that Allen was promised the job? Obviously you haven't been paying attention. ;-)
