Boyd may be the best player to come in to the dome since Sammy Watkins. How the hell do we plan on scheming to stop this kid?

You won't stop this kid.

It's that simple. If the focus of your game plan is how to stop him, you're in bad shape. Focus on the fundamentals and execution elsewhere and try to LIMIT the plays he makes.

We wont "stop" him. Best chance to limit him - constant QB pressure and hits, S awareness, and don't let #1 line up across from him (not meant as slam, need to have best cover corner match up with him).

let Pitt get a lead early, hope they sit on it like meatheads and stop throwing the ball and then rally late

i wish that scenario didn't sound so familiar

That has to be one the most iconic running back pictures of all time...perfectly framed.

Boyd should be double teamed all game long. Our defensive philosophy doesn't match the current talent we have. The coaches should adjust to the personnel we have now.

However we are going to play soft off the line coverage. Allow Boyd a free release all day long and he is going to catch 8+ passes and go over 150+ yards. We will blitz in obvious situation and Pitt will hit multiple screens to take advantage of over aggression.

We will need turnovers or this kid could go over 200 yards. I just hope our offense can match and make this a shootout.

The offense needs to have good day with disciplined football and no mistakes. We can score points and need to against Pitt. We need special teams to provide field position and for the defense to get a couple of turnovers. We need the ball a few more times than them. Lastly, we need to block and tackle. Our problems aren't all that complex. Improve the fundamentals and everything else gets easier.

I think you won't see Whigham on him. The young guys did a decent job last game on WR's.

But I don't think anything shuts him down completely.

Leonard Fournette has something to say about that.
