I think last nights 1st round is a great indication of how football is changing and teams are coveting these types of players. Guys such as Bruce Irvin, Melvin Ingram and Donta' Hightower, all fit that role of a hybrid DE/LB who can play both positions and specialize as outside/inside rushers.

Now more than ever those players are worth a premium. Which is why I am most excited for Markus Pierce-Brewster arrives. While the fanbase raves about Broyld, this kid could be the biggest addition come this season. At 6-4 240, he could easily grow into our next 1st rounder in a couple of years.

I think versatile players are great. But it's not just DE/LB. Look at the NY Giants. They don't have hybrid DE/LBs, but on passing downs, they'll go 3 or 4 DEs across the defensive line. Tuck has the power combined with speed to get a push up the middle, for example.
