I admit, I’m the old guy on the porch……but
this program WAS on the upswing prior to Jim taking it over in ‘76/‘77. There was a tremendous confluence of positives which happened early on, the Big East being formed, the dome being built and biggest of all, ESPN coming onto the scene looking for programming…….SU and Jim were so fortunate. I owned a successful small business which I loved, however we hired some new blood in my last couple of years who had fresh ideas which never entered my mind. That was when I knew it was time to sell the company and ride off into the sunset. I was thankfully able to retire at 58, not be bitter and enjoy my life. It’s quite evident, Jim should’ve retired a half dozen years ago. We’re all now paying the price for his arrogance and having no self awareness……
