Somebody should tell SU that scrolling words should always go counterclockwise, or from right to left like you see on a stock ticker or ESPN.

When you scroll ads clockwise (from left to right), you have to chase the damn ad halfway around the Dome to read it.

Should have used the money from the ribbon boards and scoreboards and hired a SPECIAL TEAMS COACH!!

Did anyone see the in game stats the promised. Thankfully I had radio, but either I missed them or there were no in game stats presented.

No In game stats. My Verizon phone got no coverage for most of the game and was in-n-out when it was working. What happened to being more wireless friendly this year? I thought they fixed that.

But hey the SUBWAY race is gone. The fan kicking a field goal gimmick at halftime was gone. The KISS CAM got new music which was less annoying, and there weren't 10,000 promotions for KeyBank and such. So it was less annoying overall. And it seems like someone got on the same page where when the band plays there is no music pumped in or also being played. And when there is music pumped in the band sits there quietly! Kudos for that!!

No in-game stats.

No recaps at the end of each quarter.

Instead of getting bombarded by Hyundai ads, they could have told me Nassib was having a record day.

Donors should be given their money back. No scores, no stats. Nothing. Those ribbon boards are an eye sore. 100% ads 100% of the time. At least last year we got stats at the end of the quarter. Nothing now. SU lied once again by promoting an enhancement of the fan experience.

Didn't Pepsi foot the bill for most of the cost?

Yes, as well as AT&T, which might explain Verizon subscribers having issues with data.

Unless SU lied some more, Pepsi paid for the video boards. The ones that have been sitting around for awhile. Even so, who puts in ribbon boards only for ads? They're annoying. They do not enhance the fan experience like SU promoted.

Damn that's lame ... you would think they'd at least try out their new toy and put some cool stuff up there and get the crowd used to looking there, and then work your way towards ads. Kinda like TV commercials. But not just bombard people with a bright ass billboard adding a ton of heat to an already overheated space.

The best moment was during the playing of the alma mater. What should be a nice, respectful moment was "enhanced" by flashing ads for Labatts Blue Light.
The flags were nice during the National Anthem, though.

Ribbon boards were definitely lame, I stopped looking at them by end of 1st quarter and was able to tune them out. My only hope was that they are paying for themselves and then some if they are going to be all ads.

My wife said the same thing during the alma mater. Her quote was "do they really have to run a beer ad during the alma mater?"

The ribbon boards were not 100% ads. More like 75%. Graphics included videos of players urging the crowd to make noise, block S against an electric blue background, flames, slogans...things like that. Looked nice. Yeah, a lot of ads but even the ads were better than gray concrete.

As for the in-game stats, I'd guess you'll see them by mid-season. This is an entirely new interface that Roger Springfield and co. are working with. They'll get it down.

I'd go with 95% or more. I saw that player thing twice. Those slogans and what not would scroll for 5 seconds and then it'd be 5 more minutes of constant ads. It did not enhance anyones game experience. Everyone I know thought they were a huge letdown.

If they had just shown Jenn 50% of the time you dogs would be raving about the ribbon boards

I apologize if this was already mentioned. This is my first chance to get on the board since the game yesterday.

From where I was sitting (Section 212, 2nd deck, behind goal posts) the only scoreboard one can see was the one on the ribbon board above the opposite end zone. Unfortunately, whenever some stupid graphic (e.g., "third down") would roll on the ribbon board, the scoreboard would disappear. In my opinion, every seat in the house should have a permanent view of a board, which contains the score, game clock, down and distance, and field position. At the end of the third quarter when Syracuse was driving quickly, I could not see a game clock, because the board kept disappearing after every play from scrimmage. I hope they fix this before the Stony Brook game.

I take no pleasure in saying that I predicted the overuse of ads at the expense of scoreboards and the like; assumed that SU would take the same graphics-happy strategy that the Washington Nationals have used to make their games much less pleasant.

Not only were there way too many advertisements in lieu of statistics, but they replaced four third-deck facade scoreboards with (I assume, as I could only see one in the west end zone) two, each of which is smaller, more difficult to read, and often completely wiped in favor of ads and the like.

I've got no patience for that LED ribbon board junk. Get permanent scoreboards that are visible from every seat in the house. No graphics, no blue background.
