I agree about going w/ the Tank on 1st down in the 4th quarter, but overall we moved the ball well all game and win this game easily if we don't get the FG blocked and returned for a TD and Nassib learns how to protect the ball when he's in trouble. Overall, playcalling was not the problem. I thought our offense looked good until the turnovers. I like Nassib and have been a big supporter, but he's a 5th year senior and he's got to secure the ball better when he's in trouble. It also didn't help that practically every 50-50 call went to Rutgers (at the least).

The Nassib fumble he did have the ball protected. He wasn't carrying it like a loaf of bread. He had it tucked away and the rutgirls kid punched it out from behind. It happens. He wasn't being sloppy with the ball.

Besides, after numerous replays, I think he was down.

It speaks for itself. The D is punching on most plays. Nassib's got to protect it better. Does anyone think he's good at getting rid of the ball to avoid a sack?

What about his other fumble we recovered and we lost about 20 yards? We went from their 30 back to midfield and completely killed a good drive. Other than their first scoring drive all of Rutgers points came off our mistakes.

That was on him.

If he gets credit for all the good things he does, he should take all the blame for the stupid stuff he does. Goes both ways.

He is a poor man's Tony Romo.

We have lost 10 of the last 12 games. Tell me play calling has nothing to do with that record and I have a bridge to sell you.

Has the topic of the thread changed from this game to he past 3.5 years?

I think I said it was on him. Was I not clear?

BTW, I don't like Romo but, he is in the NFL.

we need to separate play calling from play execution.. there were a handful of calls i would like back, but that happens to every team every day. rutgers ran 20 runs that went no where but they were just "running the clock out" according to their fans. the only series that i really had an issue with was the lack of the tank formation on the goal line.. but it also led to a punt by rutgers from inside the 10 and we scored quickly after that so time wise it might have been a wash to had two inc as opposed to a couple runs. play calling were not the issue with the nassib mistakes.

The big difference was that we would have had another TD that we didn't get. We held them in check on KO returns, so we likely only give up 10 yards in the exchange (vs the punt), but then we're within 8 instead of down 16 still.

I agree with your play-calling assessment, for the most part. It wasn't so much the play-calls as it was the execution.
