I don't get the disorganization... Lack of situational awareness.

[QUOTE="jr4750, post: 1153892, member: 117"] I honestly am used to the losing, heck I graduated in 2003 and thats more or less all we've seen in the last 10 years. If we were 4-8 and I thought the coaches came prepared week in and out, I'd live with it. I just am astonished at how our sideline seems in disarray, winning or losing. I did watch a lot of football this Saturday, despite my true desire not too, and besides more talent, I simply saw teams making "smart decisions," despite whether they became effective or not. For instance, MSU with a 1 and goal from the 2, ran three QBs sneaks up the middle to score. Never went shotgun, and didn't mess around with time consuming play calling. Quickly got to the line three times and jammed it home. Why is that a hard play to call. TCU backed up against their own goal line, power ran 1st and 2nd down behind their best OT (Hickey) to get to a manageable 3rd and 3 and pushed forward. Never went shotgun into their own end zone. As someone else pointed out, why was Hunt throwing a 5 yard first down play with 5 seconds left in the 1st half and no TO's. A coach has to get on him for that immediately, and preferably right before we knew we were going to get the ball back. Work the sidelines, 10 yards or further. If its not there scramble towards the sideline. Get to the line on 1st down and spike immediately. Don't bother looking to the sidelines first in that instance. Take control of the offense! Why is Hunt constantly looking to the sideline to get a play in, even after TO's in some instances. In order to go fast, couldn't he have a few set plays worked in where he can make the call at the line? Far more revered posters than I have argued talent disparity, and I get that, but being smart and playing the way your personnel is capable of playing, AKA not trying to turn THunt into a drop back passer and/or utilizing the play action more, is essential. After 5 weeks, I think its safe to say, Hunt is not super comfortable throwing the bubble screen for whatever reason. Why, who the heck knows, but anytime it leaves his hand, its either late, high, or wobbly. I'm simply concerned these coaches don't assess the game as it is being played well at all, and have tried to turn a team that could be a strong run oriented offense, into something they don't have the talent to play.
