but I have little interest in basketball until conference games start up in Jan. I just cannot get myself interested in SU basketball until then. I've went to the BE tourney & FF last year and had a great time at both but I usually only end up going to the season opener for basketball only until conference starts. I'm gearing up to go to the Indiana game - prob because it's Indiana and the regular season will be over for football by next week. I simply love going to bowl games and I hope we win Saturday.

It's not that I dislike SU basketball - quite the contrary - but my mind is still wrapped up around football. Maybe it's just me so go Orange beat BC so I can keep my interest up with SU football.

College basketball starts in March for the casual fan. We could lose 1 game between now and The tournament, bow out in the 2nd game and the season is pretty much a failure, IMO. When you get to the level that JB is final fours national championships is the only way he can build his resume.

I still watch a lot of basketball, it's just the nba. Don't know how people get excited about a win versus cal in November. Sure the nba has 82 games but it's just a better product IMO if you want to watch the game.

I've always been more SU football oriented than basketball, but always both. Since the 2003 national championship, I find myself easing into basketball season much more slowly. I no longer follow recruiting news as closely, I don't know the team as well, and don't invest as much time reading about them until after football season is over. Hopefully, that will be deep into December.

Why can't you like / love both :noidea: LGO!! !!!...PS throw in the Lax team while I'm at it! :)

I love SU sports. That being said, in the big picture college football > any other college sport. (Just my opinion) I'll watch every college football game I can until it is over. Then I can deal with college bball. I finally saw my first SU bball game this year vs Baylor. I didn't post anything about it because it was my first time seeing the team. And OK, I'll trade a 2 game bball losing streak for a fball win vs BC tomorrow! The Bball team has March.

LGO!

I do both. Grew up on SU football in the 60s. Went to SU in the 70s when basketball became king. I don't miss games for either. I watch every football, and basketball game I can. I even paid to watch the games in Canada this summer. I really should be living in Syracuse and not AZ. Only for the sports aspect though, lol.
