All areas seem to be secure with quality. If Tex and Swish can get off the mark without major slumps as well as Cano and Grandy..Who knows what Alex is going to do this year or Jeter as he comes in older . Will Romine become a quality backup catcher on both offense and defense? Will the DH be an overall contributor this season? Can CC not explode over 300lbs again by te end of the year eliminating him from being dominant?

A lot of questions in this post to not see any major holes!

Not so much holes as ?s
I was going for sarcastic humor...

Honestly, I am having a hard time getting amped up for baseball at the moment. Maybe its the non-winter, the Giants, and the 28-1 hoops.

I agree that the lineup should be solid and need the big guys to step it up this year with no early season slumps. Wish they could have made the AJ for Abreu trade work instead of adding Ibanez though.

Oop

Ooopsy:oops: I wasn't trying to be snarky. Once base ball gets started I think every loss is a personal insult. I think the season goes on too long and I am not a fan of the playoffs. As a resident geezer,I like the old days when the team with best record won the pennant. Now all that gets you is home field advantage. Not enough IMO for being the best team in the league. I know why they do it and of course its the $ that dictates the extra games.:bat:

We have good jitters in the lineup but I think its same old same old again this year. If they don't get big innings they are in trouble and Raul doesn't help that case.

You must be loving the fact there will be an extra wildcard then.

Same skill players as last year, with Ibanez replacing Posada.

CC, Nova, Pineda, Kuroda, and either Hughes or Garcia.

Just get us to the 7th Inning for the Ro - So - Mo Show.

No i'm not loving giving every one in the league a shot.Too bad if they have small market $ If the Yankees had built a larger "new stadium they would be making more dollars. A domed stadium with a retractible roof would have been approprpriate for the big Apple's best team. No rain outs and a Pinstrpe bowl with no threat of snow or any other winter discouragement.

Posada was an auto out. Arod was hurt so there we get a big lift I would have to think. Also Tex was not using his head on the shift and left about 75 RISP with less than 2 outs. Jeter should be more consistent now that the 3000 hit crap is over. I say crap as only the frenzy that surrounded the guy. It made him uptight as he admitted later. Grandy should pick up where he left off. I can only hope Gardner has learned how to lay down a quality bunt. and made himself a bit stronger for some gap triples. Who ever leads off. If he gets a double ne MUST BE BROUGHT IN to score. Anything less is a failure. A leadoff double in any inning must be a run on the board.couchburn hughes comes back strong or he become trade bait.

It's not all that important, but I would like to see a strong arm in the outfield. Swisher has a far below average arm for a right fielder; Granderson and Gardner have average arms at-best.

As a sox fan I can only hope for unexplained slumps, age to finally catch up to Rivera. Jeter to backslide, and a hot fudge sundae diet for CC. Then all I need to worry about are Tampa and Toronto. Oh the Sox needs to pull a couple of rabbits out hats this year.

If the improved starting pitching can get to the 6th inning, this team is going to break records. Robertson-Soriano-Rivera is a lock-down bullpen. Best in the majors by a mile.

The lineup is essentially the same and if AROD is healthy will be improved just by that fact alone.

I don't see a team in the AL East that can stay within 8-10 games of them over the course of the season.
