4-5 seed NCAA good. We will have a STRONGER more experienced pg in Joseph who actually knows his role well in advance.

Were set at the 2 and 3. Cooney , MR.

Roberson will be a almost double - double machine.

Silent G will be a stud and can and will play different positions again

Only real question is the center position. What will DC give us. Since they redshirted him and gave him every opportunity to get healthy, the odds must be pretty good he can come back and be a force.

Diagne will surprise.

We have depth.

Re: Duke/MSU

If there's one thing I would ask, it would be for the Syracuse coaching staff to watch the blocking out and attention to detail in this area that these teams take when a shot goes up.

It HAS to be a factor in the tournament success these teams have had.

Whatever the outcome of that review is, whether it's switching out of zone, whatever, they should consider it if they're being circumspect

Plainly said, there are teams that start three guards that rebound better than us despite our length

we def have a better bench next year. IF Joseph can be a reliable PG then we will be OK. Im not expecting much from the center position although DC seems to be ready to go.

We've been solid with a bunch of depth- 2011, and we've been solid with a little depth- 2009.

It's all about producing players.

Will be very interesting to see Coleman out there. Really hope he can stay on the court. Been a tough time for him.

The zone takes you out of position to board compared to man. Some people dont get that. We had no depth and we were playing at a disadvantage all year. No depth and xmas not being able to go all out every game because of the fear of foul trouble hurt our boards as well.

We've been successful many times without a dominant offensive center. Just need someone to play good d. College basketball is so guard oriented. If Joseph can make the expected jump we should have 3 or 4 seed potential. I'll take that.

I'm well aware that zone creates rebounding angle issues.

Id like the staff to ask themselves the hard questions

I'd like the assts to earn their keep by crunching some helpful data and reach some conclusions

I want to be optimistic but I find it hard to believe we'll be much better than this year, if at all. Losing Rak is huge, on both ends of the court. Coleman is not a good defender and who knows with Diagne at this point. That is going to be a tough tough kid to replace, especially with two unknowns.

How much better will Cooney and G be? Maybe they'll be more consistent but I don't think either has that much more to gain over the summer. I kind of think that they are what they're going to be at this point.

Roberson is a rock solid player but I think he's a bit limited. He has always looked a bit undersized to me and its going to be tougher without Rak next year. Can he be a go to options or is he just a putback type guy? His jumper needs to be completely remade because his mechanics are just so poor. He can improve it but needs to do more than just shoot a couple thousand shots this summer.

Joseph is the wild card and showed some flashes this past year, but he's not a great ball handler or passer. I expect improvement but he seems like more of a 3-4 year work in progress than a bonafide great PG in year 2. He needs to improve tenfold if this is going to be a top 15-20 team.

The bench is going to be all freshman and a kid that doesn't look good enough for this level. Depth is going to be a major concern especially if DC struggles to return or Joseph fails to impress. At least two of the freshman will need to play a major role and that is a bit concerning based on our history.

The ACC will be loaded next year. The usual suspects (Duke, NC, UVA) will again be tough, and FSU, Miami, Pitt and NC State could all be a lot better than this year. Lville and ND look to be taking a hit. With so much uncertainty on our team, I just find it so hard to see us being a very good team. This was one of the worst teams in recent SU history we just had and we lose our best player, two depth role players and now, a 1st round caliber talent. Other than pure hope, why do so many see such a huge improvement coming next year?

Our success hinges on enough (7-8?) of the following ifs happening...

If Joseph makes a big leap and/or

If Coleman is fully healthy and ready to go and/or

If Roberson takes another step forward and/or

If Cooney can shoot a higher percentage and/or

If G can build on his growth last season and/or

If Diagne is ready to go and/or

If Malachi gives us the additional, legitimate deep threat we've been hoping for and/or

If Lydon is ready to scrap and/or

If Obokoh becomes viable and/or

If Frankie Howard can shore up the backcourt depth and/or

Hopkins can see us through JB's suspension

"4-5 seed" will mean around 25 wins

We only have one Center and he hasn't played in 2 years and is coming off Microfracture surgery

You failed to mention we will not have our coach for half of the loaded ACC schedule

I would appreciate it if you would never respond to any of my threads or posts. Thanks.

But we've had better players surrounding that non dominant offensive center.

All the ones I bolded need to happen IMO for us to make the NCAA tournement, I think we need the next three to happen if we want to get out of the first round. Losing Rak is devastating, I think people are underrating his contributions this year. I can honestly say that I don't think we would have won 10 games without him, I'm not even using the JB presser joke by saying that.

But we've had better players surrounding that non dominant offensive center.
I know your thing is being negative, but how often do we have 2 McDonald's All-American's playing together? There is enough talent to be successful. More than the 2013 and 1996 teams and they did pretty well.

I expect to be good every year, but I'm a bit full of myself.

The depth is unproven, but if there are no injuries to key players along the way, no question JB has the pieces necessary for a successful season.
