I've watched the final play 9 or 10 times now...and it's painful.
G doesn't move, Roberson runs toward the ball but to the far corner, Cooney cuts away to receive the inbounds pass and heads upcourt.
Then...Malachi follows the defenders on G  so that one of them can easily cover him.
EVERYONE else besides Cooney just crowds into a small space near the far side of the key.
 
If Lydon had cut through the lane he would have been open for a pass possibly to the hoop.
But he didn't.
He also didn't have good position for a potential tap.
Only Roberson hustled to get it and he wound up on the wrong side of the rim.
 
People are killing Cooney for putting up the shot too early...but it hits the rim with bout .8 left.
How much more time should he have taken?
His defender fell down and made a spectacular recovery to challenge the shot.
Cooney just clanked it.
 
The execution should raise a question: was there really supposed to be a play?  What was it, coach?
