From Rahme's article:
"Marrone knew the Panthers were good on first down and scoring early but tended to finish poorly. He believed if his defense , even without starting end Mikhail Marinovich (injury) and starting cornerback Keon Lyn (discipline), could keep it close the offense would have a chance to win it at the end".

Wouldn't it be cool if we could go in guns blazing more often, instead of trying to hang around and maybe win it in the end?

That's because it is. Has been since the first game against Penn State. Doug needs to try something new next year or SU will be forced to try someone new. One win in the weak conference the BE was this year is not acceptable on any level.

he knows the offense stinks just like the rest of us so his plan for the offense to have a chance late is really just realistically all he can hope for

It shouldn't stink-We had a ton of experience and enough talent to be at least decent in this conference.

YOU CAN'T WIN CONSISTENTLY TRYING TO WHITE KNUCKLE EVERY GAME YOU PLAY. People said that last year and Doug tried to do it again this year, sooner or later the offense needs to be competent and when your defense is average and your offense far below average you will not win games. Case in point, UCONN and Pitt, they had a chance to win at one point but the offense could not score when we needed them.

You want to win games, get an average offense on the field, someway, somehow!!
