I know that many have given up ob Fleming as a viable threat but I'm not one of them. The kid's determination works in favor of him successfully coming in and contributing this year barring further body failures.Add West and Cornelius to the group and there are two big receivers . Cornelius may be the biggest downfield threat between these two players Eskridge may well get more plays there as well. I still like Ben Lewis' skill set. The TE starter maybe the biggest story by the end of spring and fall camps. I'm going to predict that Provo emerges as that player. PJ Batten has the speed to make a difference and a reputation for good hands. Moore might be a blocking specialist but hardly a downfield threat which IMO is critical to a quality offense.Wales has finally moved on and no longer clogging up the position growth and we have a new coach in there that perhaps can be a positive factor going forward. And then we have the combo players in Custis and Enoicy who probably will not be a factor this year except for Custis lining up at WR on occasion.

I think our headaches in regard to the passing game last year had a lot to do with Hunt's inability to get the ball close to the recievers. He definitley got better as the year progressed. I also have faith in some of our veteran recievers as well. I think some of them, including Fleming, will step up and play well. Especially with a year under Hunt's belt. I also think he will have much more confidence after the bowl win. The good thing is that the coaches will play the best players, whether they're Freshman or not. I am excited for September.

I agree, a lot of it had to do with accuracy. We completed only a handful of slants all year. Accuracy is going to be very important this year as we dont expect to have a huge improvement in athleticism. We have most of the same guys back, and its unreasonable to expect our incoming WRs to have a huge impact on the passing game. West, Fleming, Estime, and Broyld are serviceable, but Hunt is going to have be much better with timing and accuracy. Our passing game will improve slightly, but it's not going to help us put up big numbers.

If Eskridge, Fleming and Lewis are all among the top 5 wr's next year this team is screwed big time no matter who the QB is. :bat:

I would be shocked if Provo every played for us outside of special teams.

Really bnoro? Thought he was highly regarded... Could be a nice short yardage guy, or someone to throw the swing to, no?

Perhaps Keenan Hale will be a surprise.

I hope the best four-five play, period. If its returning guys, it probably tells us they weren't bad despite the numbers last year and that it had more to do with Hunt's developing but not quite there abilities early on. If its freshmen, that tells us where the problem was last year. If the freshmen are better, they ought to play. Saving them just for the sake of getting an extra year out of them on the back end isn't going to happen, because I believe this coaching staff feels they can pull in just as good, and probably higher ranked, recruits every year.

Why? I could see him as a blocking Full Back or TE on various packages, both of which we need or will need given that Cleveland is a Senior this year. He had offers from BC, Louisville, Minnesota, South Florida, UCF, Pitt and of course Syracuse, so he showed a lot of talent in HS. He was 3 stars and #42 TE in his class. I can't seem to find the list with rank in class for commits who signed in 2012 and 2013, but I don't recall us having many recruits, if any, that were better than #42 nationally at their position.

Unless his ankle injury from his Senior year of High School is chronic, which it may be given the plate installed in his leg due to his 8th grade severe leg break, I can't see why.

He definitely looked like he excels at blocking on his highlight tapes. I see him playing on the kick return team for sure. He is too short and not enough of a receiving threat to play much TE. Have to believe he would be behind Parris in more of the tradtional TE role until he leaves. But I'm not sure how much traditional TE McDonal plans to use in the coming seasons. I could see him getting some plays here or there as solely a blocking FB/HB or TE but not too much other than that.

Maybe at FB, but can't see him playing TE moving forward with this offense. He's definitely been recruited over at TE.

Absolutely agree. In McDonald's offense I see him as a fullback. I would be surprised if we see him at TE

I think the Eskridge experiment is over.
