It was like watching Willie Mays with the Mets or one of Ali's later comebacks. You know there just is not going to be a bounce back for that program. The demise of the BE conference, JC's health, no NCAA tournament in 2013, players calling each other out, Lamb and Drummond likely to abandon ship, other possible transfers. (Pitt on the other hand will likely bounce back, as they have none of those issues.) UCONN is a program I hated, respectfully. I enjoyed watching them play, and rooted for them in every Final Four.) They were good, we knew it. We were good, they knew it. For the most part their fans got over the initial " we're better than everybody else" that they had when they first "arrived" and took their place in college basketball, where they could acknowledge excellence in other programs without thinking it was an indictment of their own. I have had a lot of fun with Yukon fans during the BET at the Garden and the Blarney over the years. I just don't know how they recover. Unless there is a HUGE SEA CHANGE UP THERE THIS YEAR, I think Rutgers and/or Providence will make the NCAA before they do going forward.
