i felt like in reds first year they were playing at tourney level by feb/march but it didnt even matter bc of what happened in nov and dec...and I couldnt hate that aspect of how they rank teams these days any more...i think the teams that are playing best in feb/march should be given preference and those games should be given more weight in the metrics, personally. this new format really hurts teams/coaches who take a while to figure things out

esp in this era of extreme roster turnover around the country...early season games should matter less than ever not more than ever. i get why they made the change...to try to make the games more meaningful from the beginning...but with the constant flux of players...how most teams are playing in november doesnt have much to do with how they are playing in march. (and beyond that, i hate how it locks in conference rankings early too)

my concern is that red wont have things figured out early on...and that it will hurt the team ...even though by the end of the season, they team will likely be raring to go 9but then again, they could come out hot and surprise people, as well)
