Why, in the name of Kim Jong Bees, did we NOT run a QB sneak on first down at the half yard line down by two TD's? We run those stupid fake handoffs where Nassib dives forward. Why not have him dive forward behind his line? At least try it for cripes sake! That seemed like a no brainer play to me.

Tru dat. I did however love the play call that let Broyld fake the run and pass deep to a streaking Marcus Sales. What's that??

Because that's just what THEY are expecting us to do! :p

Jk. I have no idea.

Ask Hackett. I'm sure he's got a million good reasons...

How about Ryan not sliding when he can get a 1st down? That is such a sellout move, and I do not want to hear about "he can't get hurt". Grabbing a 1st down instead of sliding 5 yards early might actually jack up his teammates.

Won't defend a single slide but he slides, like most QB's because it is to avoid injury. Im sure the coaches would tell him not to do it if they didn't want him to. Hell Brady just did it.

as a good friend suggested someone may have got into Nassibs head that he may have a shot at being drafted and he'd best not get hurt. Interesting theory I can't discount.

Coaches want him to slide. They can't afford to get him hurt.

They also can't afford him to not get 1st downs when he can.

You're pointing to 1 slide where he may have been able to get a first down. I'm speaking in general as to why he slides.

There have been several over the last few years... And there was more than 1 last night. Even if he doesn't quite get 1st down, having a 3rd and short is better than 3rd and 6-7-8.

I dont see that many, but you'll have to take it up with the coaches. He's not going to lower his shoulder trying to get extra yards. I also don't agree that he slid other times last night 5 yards too soon which is the difference between 3rd and short and 3rd and 6-7-8.

2-5 yards short every time from what I saw. No sense in arguing back and forth with each other. We wouldn't be discussing this if we won. Damn I hate losing.

Losing blows.

Peace.

Sliding prevents fumbles

Didn't really read this thread, so sorry if this post goes a little off topic, but I'm going to throw my two cents in. Obviously this offense can work, we've seen it work. I feel that Marrone and Hack are handcuffing it. If they want this high octaine offense, they need to let Nassib do his thing. Let him run the show like Payton, give him way more slack and let the kid play. Second, they need to put the right players on the field. I like Smith, I do, I think hes consistent, runs hard, and all that other good stuff but Gulley is the type of player that needs to start on this offense. He's fast, he's shifty, and he brings that big play ability. Gulley, Broyld/Smith. When I saw the deffense on that goal line stand, where we ran a pitch with smith and he got stopped, that was a great play call. Wrong personel. I saw the way the D was lined up and I was screamin picth left pitch left! Then I saw Smith was the back and i was like oh...

Is that why NFL QB's slide too?

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't losing faith in this coaching staff - and it's across the board from O to D. That loss today is inexcusable.

Gulley would not have scored either. #13 didn't crash as expected and keyed on the RB.

College qbs run all the time. Our guy fumbles when hit. So take what you can get and get down
