I haven't been this devastated after an SU sporting event...

I felt worse after Butler, MSU in 2000 and Tenn in 1998 but these things I don’t think really hang with me anymore to the extent they used to. Also, I plan to drink a lot the rest of the weekend so that should take the edge off the feelings of existential anguish.

Miami 92
Tennessee 98
Penn state 85
Oklahoma (cant remember the date)
Auburn tie in 87

The clemson loss in 18 was more painful
To each their own, but that 1985 loss to PSU was the difference between being 3-2 and 2-3. If we win today we have the inside track to the conference title and playoff.

Yea this one hurts. Guys played hard and looked like they belonged.

Couple dumb penalties at key moments, some non calls against Clemson (that weren’t consistent with calls against us), and play calling in the second half that was a little too cute.

Given our injuries, proud of how they played. But Clemson was who we thought they were, and we let ‘em off the hook.

You’re right this is worse
Miami was worse. The Miami 2nd half we took it to them and then couldn’t get out of our own way. Whole second half game plan today was coaching scared, not to lose.

Nonetheless, Syracuse played a GREAT game and really deserves a level of national respect despite the loss, IMO.
Exactly!!!!

We established our first six wins weren't a fluke.

I think the loss to Akron was probably the worst for me. That was the death knell and look how long it's taken to get us where we are today.

1987 IU/ SU basketball National Champ game
1989 I llinois/ SU Basketball Final 8
1992 Miami/ SU Football
SU with Nance and Little lose to LSU despite both backs breaking the Sugar Bowl rushing record.

SU loses to #1 Pitt when the officials move the spot back three times when we made first down.

The worst for me was Moten calling that timeout we didn't have. I absolutely loved that team.

You haven’t watched enough Syracuse football/basketball games then.
I’ve watched every SU football and basketball game since like 1990.

92 Miami
18 Clemson
94 Oklahoma
98 Tennessee
97 NC State

Today is in this club for me.

Agree with what has been listed.

Some weird ones that really hurt in an embarrassing way.

I felt really bad after the Villanova win during year 2 of the Scott Shafer era. They should have lost and it felt like the season was a train wreck waiting to happen and the first year with a bowl was a fluke and we had blown the hire.

Virginia Tech like 62-0 when the network pulled away from the game it was so out of reach. It was a sign that things were much different without DNabb

Purdue Joe Fields savior game hurt bad. I thought we finally were going to turn the corner.

same. It sucks we could have had all the eyes on cuse and been in the playoff conversation.

I think in general even with winning this game it still would be tough to win out. Gotta let it sting til Monday but no longer. There is still so much to play for this year and Notre Dame, although down, still has talent.
