Can't stand the shockers coach pregame on live tv.

He gets his tv pep rally on live tv and says you know every win gets better as you advance, if you think its good now wait to next round. Then he says you don't have to play perfect basketball you only have to play your best.

I would smile if KU won by 20.

It just came off like hes acting like they are destined for greatness.
Most major 2-5 seed coaches wouldn't even act that way, even some one seeds. And hes in the round of 32 now, this isn't the round of 64 anymore.

I don't like to pull for midmajor underdogs either.

yeah but most major school coaches don't spew it to the media on live tv right before tipoff either. Not even Coach K or JB would take that route.

I can pass on butler, witchita state and VCU acting like they are favorites for the final four every year, while the best schools ever don't. No thanks. Hell your already the underdog as it is no need to push it.

I didn't know how I wanted to respond, but your post sums it up.

I can understand hating on Marshall for his ESPN appearance last year... but this just seems like somebody is searching hard for a way to criticize someone because they don't like him or hate mid majors.

I have coached youth and high school sports for over 30 years. I think what the Shocker coach said during half time was great. I think I'll use it this spring if my team progresses in the post season tournament!

I think it's because he hates Marshall (which is not unreasonable based on past). When you dislike a figure in sports you can spin things to satisfy it.

While I don't do it with Marshall, I am sure I am guilty of it with other sports figures quite often,
