Just what a crappy league Kentucky plays in.

The SEC is awful. Who could stand playing in a league where every game seems to be against some jerkwater school like Ole Miss, or Auburn, or Alabama or LSU or Arkansas or Mississippi State or South Carolina or Georgia ...

I mean, when do you hit the GOOD schools on the schedule ?? What are there, two good teams in their league ?

I think it would help if Syracuse could get some type of clarification on when the ACC move will actually happen.

But regardless ACC/Big East over SEC is a no brainer. This aint football.

It don't matter about the SEC. It's STILL Kentucky for crying out loud. The name itself is going to make any recruit at least listen.

Cheers,

Not sure how it will work for SU if Noel does join after next season. I assume that means that Fab and possibly Coleman have left for the NBA. If it's going to be a crowded center position, I would think Kentucky would be his choice. Regardless, it will be difficult to keep him from Kentucky anyway. Could be that Anya is our Plan B. The film clip on Noel is pretty amazing though. What an athlete.

since kentucky has such a revolving door of players, a lot of these top kids know that chances are they can step right into a starting role at UK. where as here we have a lot of depth so its different. its not a bad position to be in for us, things could be much worse..we could be rutgers...

We are getting pretty jammed up in the post. Unless Keita can move out to the 4 for us, it will be nuts in another year or two.

The allure of Pay Pal Cal has zero to do with the SEC and in some sense only a bit to do with Kentucky itself. It is all about the national media attention that gets lavished on the Diaper Dandies and the perceived fast track to the League.

I don't think it matters what Keita does. I just don't see Fab, DCII, Christmas or Noel losing minutes to Keita. Keita is a nice player and in another time period would have been an excellent center for us, but he is not the thoroughbred stud that those other guys are.

No program in the country would turn down the chance to have Noel, regardless of how many 5s they already have on the roster.

Not to mention they get $$$ a year early!

I really don't see Fab staying all 4 years ... so it really comes down to whether he would fit on the court with DC2 (& if he would start over a senior BMK, which I would assume is a yes).

When you're one-n-done good, you make sure that you play for a team where you're getting as much PT as you want, because there's only one year to play. The Tobias Harris Law.

NN's a 2013 kid, so he would come in when DC's a sophomore. DC can play, but not sure he's a one and done, especially backing up Fab for a year. Fab needs time, and if he stays, which I think would be good for him, he'd be a senior for the 2013 season. Either way though, NN comes in and learns for a year, either behind DC or DC/Fab.

DC2 not being a one and done might be the problem for NN. He probably wants to play from day 1 and must be considering the one and done option himself.

As for Fab, odds are he will be long gone. I suspect after this year. The NBA drafts a lot on potential. Fab will have shown tremendous improvement in his span and he is legit tall. Those two things might get him in the lottery portion.

I think Fab stays one more year and leaves for 2013 season going into his senior year. He has to work on his offensive skill set as the Pros have pointed out ... and then he could easily be a high lottery pick. DC2 coming in next year to back up Fab and BMK moves down a slot ... DC2 here for 1 more year after that (depending on development). Noel could have come in 2013 and backed up DC2 or shared pt big time with him.I think Noel wants to come in somewhere he will start because if he does go to college (and I am dubious) he will be a one-and-done. That fits better with Calamari's scheme. Then we have BMK for 1 year either way and he will be the primary 5. Goodluck and/or Anya would be nice.

I agree. Ky is def. after him.

No doubt, Davis will be gone after this year. So that leaves an opening, which I'm sure Calamari would like to fill with NN, if he doesn't recruit someone else in the meantime. But I have a good feeling about NN. He's very smart and measured in his comments -- showing unusual maturity. He was also at SU at just the right time (great MM), and even spent the next day with the coaching staff in the Melo center. Since that time, Fab's been playing great. The program made it through its crisis and is getting tons of national exposure. We're kicking a#s and taking names in recruiting. I doubt it will bother NN to have DC there for 1 year. Top programs have top talent competing for PT and no doubt Ky will be recuiting other bigs.

I like what I have seen from NN in the vids.. he seems dominant defensively, with some room to develop offensively. However, a lot of elite centers dominate at the HS level and still need a couple of years acclimating to elite college ball before they're ready to play for money. If NN doesn't mind going to class, SU is a great fit. If he does, he can go to Ky.
