I hope this was a serious suggestion.

yes, they have a title and yes, we have 25-0 and a Final Four . . . but in my opinion the post-Big East Era has not been good for the two former Beasts of the Big East

Woops. Fixed the link.

UConn has perhaps the best basketball coach in history, and a men's coach who needs coaching on how to coach (and how to recruit high IQ players)

Make Geno overall head coach, all basketball teams.
Make KO associate head coach, mens' team.

Geno teaches, KO implements.
Recruiting, keep KO who the players apparently like, and add in the best teacher in the history of the game. "Play for Kevin, be taught by Geno"

for that model to work, wouldn't they also have to find an Associate Head Coach, Women's Team?

Geno does one thing better than anyone in history; putting him in that kind of overall executive slot might be as successful as making Phil Jackson president of the Knicks.

Listen Geno has done probably the best job in all college sports in building a dynasty. With that said the guy would get his clock cleaned as a men's coach.

The depth of the women's game is nowhere near the men's game. Geno building that program up to its dominance is the real accomplishment. However we have no clue how good an in-game coach this guy is because he has the best talent probably 99% of the time the last decade.

Geno is not John Wooden.

Yep. Have him switch teams with his opponents and see how many games he wins. Yes recruiting is part of a coaches job and he of course does well there, but he isn't a deity of coaching.

Of course. It's like two different games.

It's a hilariously awful idea.

Probably the stupidest post I've ever read. One guy is going to coach two teams at the same time? You're going to tell national championship winning coach that played in the NBA for 15 years that he needs to be taught how to coach by some other guy that's never coached men?(it is different)

So many people are so stupid when it to sports and coaching.

Ollie is a good coach and has no chance at that sh$thole. Hopefully he gets an NBA job before the Storrs stink drags him down.

He had at best even talent when he was knocking UT off its pedastal

Knocking UT off its pedastall was over a decade ago.
Again his program building has been legendary. We have no clue how good a coach he is though because he has the best teams 99% of the time the last decade.

You mean the same John Wooden who also had the best talent in the country and built a dynasty as a result?

It would depend on the program he went to, the guy knows the game, but obviously he isn't going to be able to select players like he does at Uconn.

Every board has their crazies.

I think Wooden isn't as great as Coach K.
He cheated with Sam Gilbert and his refusal to use timeouts hurt his team. He was stubborn and hated using timeouts to stop opponents runs.

I think Pat Summit is a better coach than Geno. Summit could have coached in the NBA her basketball mind was top notch.

I think he would be a tournament coach and be successful but he would be like Rick Barnes.
Barnes can recruit but his in-game coaching isn't up to the elites.

To be fair to the Boneyard

So far the poster has received 1 like (probably from a troll from our board)

The next poster who said it was the dumbest thing he ever read now has 39 likes.
