I keep telling myself with Pitt we are 2-0 vs Dixon

Neither of those were opening round games.

I think any of us who's watched Pitt besides their games against us, can see they aren't that good. There is not a huge talent gap; Dixon knows the zone and Pitt as a team is better at passing than they are at penetrating, which is why they've been good vs. the zone.

Honestly -- we were in both games until the last 4 minutes, when's the last time someone beat us 3 times in 1 year?

Off the top of my head Louisville did it at least once... Pitt did it a couple of times because Dixon owns us.

Georgetown back in '87? We lost to them twice in the regular season and then in the championship game of the Big East Tournament. Of course we all vividly remember our epic run in '87, however, this year's Pitt is not even close to being as good as those highly rated '87 Hoyas.

I don't think Pitt hasn't beaten us three times in one season, as it has been noted, we are 2-0 in post season tourney's against them with Dixon.

I'm thinking Pitt will open at about -2. Final possession game.

Neither are we.

If you're a completely neutral bettor, why in a million years would anyone take Cuse? Other than that cliche that "it's hard to beat a team three times in one season" which I've never seen backed with actual data.

I'm pretty UConn did in 2003, but who cares.

Marsh -- what do you think our chances are vs. Pitt?

Again like the movie Rocky I would prepare the team to play man to man like tricky rocky balboa learns to fight Southpaw.
Play zone the first 35 minutes then switch to man to man the last 5 and confuse Pitt.

But in Rocky (2) it was the opposite. Rocky began and fought most of the fight switching to "Righty" before finally going back to "Southpaw" (comfort zone) down the stretch. :)

You guys know the deal. We don't beat Pitt. Technically it is not impossible. I personally peg the odds of beating them in any game in any season at 15-20%. This is player independent. They could be missing two starters or we could. We could have a one game transfer of Buddy Hield, or whatever. It's somewhere between a 1 in 5 and 1 in 7 chance that we win everytime we play them. If we win this next game it will be strictly due to statistical vagaries (sort of like the St. John's miracle against us this year). I won't watch the game of course, but I have a feeling I have already seen it. Many, many times.

I think you better pray like hell bubble teams lose and we get a dayton spot I dont think we are tough enough to beat Pitt. Hate to say it. Unless we grow a pair of balls and man the

Already did that. I had to be at my church last night and today. I told my daughter that it's a good thing I went to church twice so I had two times to pray for SU on Wednesday.
