My heavens, what is he doing out there? The ball has to land in his lap for a rebound and he cannot cover anyone. We have to let WK play 36 if he isn’t in foul trouble. And honestly, he’s looks so unplayable, Freeman when back, or White should play the reserve 5 man minutes. Souare’s minutes seem to shift all momentum to the opponent.

Souare had 3 rebounds "land in his lap" in 12 mins last night. He is serviceable.

Not playing Souare those kind of minutes, especially with Freeman out, will make Kyle less effective. He plays harder than maybe any 5 we have ever had. Having Freeman back will certainly help.

This take is scorching hot.

He definitely looked out of sorts last night. However, as a backup 5 he’s looked serviceable in the previous games. These smaller lineups the mid majors throw out there don’t do him any favors. Against, the bigger bodies in conference play I think he’ll be good for 5-10 minutes a game.

He seems to be getting gradually worse. Joe’s Centers were 6’10 and 6’11.

Could not agree more!

Yeah, it's probably right up there with the "William Kyle appears to be on the shorter side" thread.
Hey, I can admit when I’m wrong. If you think Souare is good enough, good for you.

Like I said he looked lost yesterday. He’s 5 fouls and if we get a put back or lob dunk that’s about all we can expect. He’s raw and still young but he gets after it on the defensive end. He’s going to make a ton of mistakes but I think he’ll get better as the year goes on too. I’m more worried about Seniors throwing lazy behind the back passes during fast breaks.

I just don’t see how Sadiq or Donnie at the 5 for those minutes isn’t a better alternative. Best lineups should be out there. Nothing against Akir, but we don’t owe him minutes

He's in the long Syracuse tradition of recruiting skinny, beanpole centers who get muscled out of rebounding position by guys 30-50 lbs heavier.

He also had a great block. He gives Kyle a rest. Do you not notice that having some players taking up some space and minutes makes sure our players aren't gassed at the end like the last few seasons. He is using the substitutions wisely, I think. You also need to give the lower bench players playing time in these games, even though it might keep it closer, just in case you really need them at some point and this way they have some game experience under their belt. And of course we hopefully have Donnie back and that will make a difference with subs and playing times.

He was clearly looking for an ESPN top ten sort of play. If it had worked, the poor fans who came out in the bad weather would have gone nuts. Wrong thing to do, but I sort of get it.

Fine giving him 5-10 minutes.
you absolutely do not want to wear down kyle3 the next 4 games. he needs to be healthy and fresh going into ACC. play ibraham for the full 5 fouls worth . plus it makes his team mates less dependent on him. we shouldn't need donnie or WK3 to frost these cupcakes. save them for when the calendar flips .

Souare played 17 minutes a game in 30 games (started 14 of them) for Georgia Tech last year averaging 3 points/game, shooting 61% and almost 4 rebounds as a freshman. Definitely not a gunner. Looking forward to seeing him develop over time for both his sake and ours too. Hope he starts with defense, free throws and rebounding. (Georgia Tech had 3 more wins than we did last year with him as a backup).
