12 of the last 20 national champs were ranked in the top 3 of the first AP poll of January. Obviously SU 2003 is one of the 8 cases where that did not hold true.

That corresponds to a 1 in 5 (12 out of 60 in the top 3 over the 20 years) chance that we win the NC. I guess that's OK.
