LossAngeles has gangsters that were the equal or better than anybody that Chicago was known for. The movies LAConfidential has been one of my favorites for a long time now. A cast of giants. Russel Crowe, Guy Pierce, Kevin Spacey, and Kim Bassinger and others. Danny Devito was perfect as the doomed narrator.

While I for one loved LA Confidential and am interested in the Gangsters of the west coast...

... nothing compares to Chicago, Atlantic City, Philly and NYC in my opinion.

Agree, best gangster movies of all time were the first two Godfather movies and Goodfellas. Honorable mention has to go to "say hello to my little friend" Scarface.
