Yup. his confidence must be sky high after coming back in and trying to go 1 on 3 on a break and turning it over again

Did not understand that decision. At all.

I think our best lineup tonight would have been:

Dion Waiters

:)

It's just a never ending cycle with this guy and the discussion surrounding him. I've never been a fan yet I feel like a horrible person for saying anything remotely along the lines of 'I told you so'. But maybe I shouldn't feel guilty given how condescending and "I told you so" the Brent Axe's of the world are every time he has a good game. I mean he's obviously not a terrible player but this tournament is just a perfect microcosm of why he's hard to trust.

Scoop isn't that good. I don't understand all the fanfare around him except that he's been at SU for 6 years with only an undergrad degree. He is our most inconsistent player. I feel like JB should have opened up his spot for competition and have him come off the bench... for a player as inconsistent as Scoop I don't see him starting but being a strong role player like he was 2 years ago. Also feed fab the ball lets see what this man can do.

Sit his ass. I don't know how or why but he is 100% bad Scoop right now. I am shocked that JB continued to play him in this game.

Yes and MCW is too young and thin to have played tonight. Ask the experts on this board. I'm sure he couldn't have helped at all and JB can do no wrong.

The troll looking fellow on 97.7 is an even bigger Scoop fan than Axe. Can't wait to call in on Monday.

Hey, I am as big a fan of MCW as anyone. Hell, I drove an hour to go watch him play in high school numerous times after he committed to Cuse. I agree with you that he should be getting some run in the games but EVERY one of your posts is about the same thing. Let it go.

Scoop has sat for long stretches in both BE games. He sat at least half of the 2nd half of UConn game and 10 minutes of 2nd half of Cincy game. Each time the team responded and game back from trailing. From my standpoint, and you all know I am a big Triche supporter, JB could not sit Scoop more. Here are reasons that may give hints to JB's not sitting Scoop more:
1. Team record of 31-1: Scoop big part of that and won several games
2. Scoop has been starting and usually ending PG on each of those 32 games
3. Scoop is a senior +1 and JB is very loyal to his players who HE TRUSTS
4. If he sat or did not play Scoop at all, it is possible that Scoop sulks and or loses confidence--cannot afford that to happen
5. What is effect of sitting Scoop on Waiters...forget that one Dion if starting or getting more time probably doesnt care
6. JB has sent eye daggers at Scoop now for the last 3 games...starred him down and sat him--Scoop has not jumped up and given indication that he is ready to play
7. JB does not have 'Trust" yet in MCW in really important games yet he played MCW for 7-8 minutes against UConn and he played well--see #4 above
8. Team nearly came back to take lead with more than 5 minutes to go so 'Cuse was in position to win
9. Triche, an 84% FT shooter missed 2 in a row...team shot FT poorly and Yates made them like he wasnt a 60%
10. In his PRESSER JB said his senior leadership, Scoop and KJ did not play well and 'Cuse neeeds them to play well to win...note 31-1 record before this game (does this really mean Scoop plays even when playing poorly?)

Bottom line is Scoop was not the only player to play poorly. However his overall game was Scoopid(whoever came up with that I like). Scoop was not overly active or quick reacting on defense; he brought the ball up slowly and was ballooning cross court skip passes. Scoop was bad Scoop last night. Couple that with KJ's disappearing and the team is in trouble.
The good news, if it is that, is DION was a STAR last night and coupled with Triche the team game back. Why Scoop got back in I do not know unless JB thought Triche was too tired...or he thought he needed to give Scoop some confidence (could have given MCW the time and boosted his confidence but JB would not do that and have to worry about Scoop's psyche)

We need scoop to get out of his slump (all 3 guards have been in a slump this year) and we ain't winning the NC without him.
