Both took their lumps from JB, but both have proven they are tough-minded and able to respect and build off of those types of comments.
Roberson got called out and has stepped his game up tenfold in the Tourney. Sure, everyone criticized JB for how he went about this, but you can't argue against the results. It's obvious that Tyler didn't mind and has taken what he said to heart, and proven his coach right. The coach knew what Tyler needed.
Last night, Malachi:
“Coach came in and barked at me a little bit at halftime. I just had to pick it up,” Richardson said. “Once I got going, I was hot. And I was going.”
Says a lot about the kid that he can accept the criticism, accept the 'barking' and go out and perform at an absolute ridiculous level.
This is why the media needs to when it comes to how coaches handle their kids. The coach knows just a bit more about how to reach each player than some keyboard clown and it's even better when you see those results on the big stage.
Good job Tyler and Malachi. Now keep it going!
