And I suspect I always will. Even after we move to the ACC I think I will choose to watch a Uconn/Georgetown or even Villanova/Seton hall game over Duke/NC State, Wake Forest/Virginia. No matter Syracuse's conference affiliation I will always be tied to the Big East teams.

Big LEast sucks.

Can't wait for the ACC. No team this year in the Big East can challenge us. If we were in the ACC, though. I'd be looking forward to the UNC game.

I agree but will probably warm up to the the ACC over time.

Agreed.

Right now the only ACC game that interests me is Duke-Carolina although I would watch any ACC game that involved top teams. They just don't have anyone else right now.

However, I'll watch just about any Big East game.

And I agree with Marsh that that will change.

It's definitely going to be tought to watch some of the ACC games, but the ACC games will overcome my love for the BE from a competition stand point. BE games will be nothing more than entertainment. ACC games will directly effect our standing, seeding in the ACC tournament, ect. Definitely going to take a while to get over the loss of conference games with Nova, Gtown, Uconn.

It will always feel as if Syracuse is just a guest at a family's Thanksgiving dinner when we play in the ACC.

I used to love watching BE hoops. Back when there was a manageable number of teams, I would watch every game I could. Fans knew every coach, and could name several starters from each of the teams. Now I'd bet I can't name half the coaches in the league, and frankly, naming the teams is difficult enough, let alone the players on those teams.

The ACC may not change that -- 14 teams is still a lot. But perhaps with a set pod or division system it will be fun again.

Ummm... Don't forget Virginia. They could be tough with their slow-down style of play this year. And I think NC State is on verge of being really, really good given their recruiting class this year. We do need a good pod and we need to hope that Pitt does some good recruiting. But comparing the ACC to the Big Least .. to me very similar. Who do we play year in and year out in the BE that are perenially good ... L'ville, UConn, Pitt and sometimes Villanova, Marquette, and GTown. Occasionally, but rarely, do we see a team climb up and challenge those leaders. So what about the ACC (with SU and Pitt) ... they have SU, UNC, Duke, Pitt and sometimes another team that will grab you by the ass. Plus I see NC State getting much better with their recruiting class coming in next year as well as Maryland. No difference ... just different teams

I've thought about this as well but honestly I simply will not have the time to follow the BE and ACC in the same depth that I follow the BE now. So I'll basically switch to the ACC when we do and watch big BE matchups like I watch big ACC, SEC, BIG12 and Big10 matchups now. I feel it won't be long before the BE doesn't matter that much anymore to me. Sure I'll always get a special pleasure out of Gtown or Uconn lossing but once BE football folds and we get to 4x16 it will be hard to keep track of all of their losing.

I will always try and watch teams that are playing well regardless of the conference. Having said that, once we move to the ACC, I could give an overall rats behind about the Big East.

I grew up on SU and the BigEast in the 80s, I am going to miss it. I can't see myself having the same enthusiasm for the ACC though I will still be a fan of the bball team. I won't follow the Big East like I have during SUs time as a member but I will still be curious to see how things unfold and collectively wish good luck to the league as a whole, I hope its able to make a good go of things in a post-SU era.

Oy. They all can, many will, and some will beat us.

You were one of those posters who had us beating Butler by 25, weren't you?

No it wont...after we play all these teams a few times, get to know their coaches and fanbases and develop a rivalry year in/year out with UNC and Duke for the ACC championship, I will feel just fine.
