The truth is the administration is who really deserves the blame. They got us in this mess. They're always looking for the cheap way out.

If a person was truly a life-long fan, and lived through our horribleness from the late 60s to the mid-80s, then shouldn't they be able to emotionally handle a 2-3 start?

I'm truly a life long fan, personally. And I wasn't alive during the 60s and was barely alive during the early/mid 80s. I'm a 33 year old life long fan and SU alum, and I've seen highs and very lows. This team is about as inept on offense as any I've seen.
