After all the complaints about announcers lately, I loved the announcers tonight. Kept the focus on the game and were knowledgeable. Reminded me of the old Gorman/Raftery duo in the Big East. Hope we get these guys for the rest of the ACC network games.

Brant's bad (how he comes on camera and blows a name in the first 2 minutes of a broadcast is beyond me) but Bonner is very, very good. He said something toward the end of the game that really showed he had researched SU.

Even if Brandt made a mistake early, I'll take that over any announcer who makes the game all about him. I thought he did a fine job the rest of the night. Reminds me of no name refs who you still don't know who they are at the end of the game. Hess and Stephens on the other hand, you know who they are at the end of the game.

4 things about the broadcast.

Will someone tell Raycom that JB only has 4 final fours. Two games in a row they've shown the graphic with his career coaching statistics and credited him with 5 final four appearances.

The announcers said that this was our first time playing in Blacksburg. Is that really true? Would have thought we would have played there when they were in the Big East.

I really liked how he pointed out Keita's work on defense. He had a terrific game tonight and seemed to be all over the floor. They pointed out how important he was to our defensive efforts numerous times tonight. Watching Keita tonight made clear to me that there was no way DCII would have played in the game tonight, even if he was 100%. We needed to extend our defense so far out on the shooters that there were a number of times that Keita was challenging shots in the corner and even once on the wing at the foul line extended. No way DCII covers 1/2 that ground.

After the conclusion of the game they interviewed CJ. I liked the fact that they talked with him for what seemed like an extended time for one of those post game interviews. Must have given him 4 questions and gave him a good deal of camera time. I enjoyed having the opportunity to hear CJ.

This. +1. or whatever the cool way to echo someone's sentiments is now. I'll try my own: Echo.

Also agree that it seemed like CJ got more time than usual for post game interview, and I enjoyed it.

for all the talk about how ennis is an old school point guard, these guys were old school announcers in that the discussed the game without bias or agenda. there were no catch phrases nor patent pending verbiage.

ill excuse the couple name mis steps because those are going to happen. i recall billy packer calling steven thompson billy thompson about 50 times...then there was hakim warwick...no relation to dionne..not to mention the fifty first names of demetrius nichols.

I thought they were pretty horrible --- "You don't want to be taking a half court shot with 10 minutes left in the game" Really??? that was pretty insightful.

I guess they're counting 1975, when he was an assistant.
