It's funny (or irritating, perhaps) - Scoop and Dion had identical first-half plays in which they got beaten down court on a George Washington inbounds pass while we pressed. The first time, Dion cheated up and let his man get fifteen feet behind him downcourt. The inbounder threw a long pass and Dion's guy scored easily. The nitwit sitting behind me said to his friend, "It's ok, he almost got the steal, he's good at that." A couple minutes later, the same thing happened to Scoop. The guy behind me went berserk. "Scoop-id! Stupidest basketball player I've ever seen! [Expletive, expletive]! Look at him, he's ignoring Boeheim. He never takes advice, he always blames it on someone else." And blah blah blah like this through the next timeout. (Even though Scoop is as receptive as any Syracuse player to coaching advice, and Dion's rare lectures this year have been accompanied by a blank stare away from Boeheim.)

People see what they want to see and make up the rest to fit their biases. Truth is, they're all valuable members of the team.
