I think if the game was in the Dome

We could of pulled the upset.
The good news is that we will have the likes of Miami, Florida St, and Clemson coming to the Dome in the next few years, so we'll have the chance to beat some quality teams under under Teflon and concrete palace.

i dont think the location of the game would of made a difference wherever the game was played we still had no answer for lee and woods

Honestly they didn't have ans answer for Sales and West. Just saying.

They burned us on plays where their speed was better than ours, I think in the dome it would have been even more noticeable.

The answer is tackling. When you grab the guy, you have to bring him down. That TD their TE scored after 4 of our defenders failed to bring him down...uncalled for. Pathetic.

There's no telling whether or not playing in the Dome would have helped, but I what we do know is that we had a chance to win it today, in MetLife Stadium. We made some plays to hurt our chances, and USC made some big plays to help theirs. Overall, I was pleased with the way we represented today. I think we gained some positive attention for ourselves.

If the Dome allows is to tackle better, not commit penalties, and not drop passes then yes it would have been possible.

Forget the Dome, we had a chance to beat them where we played today.

Here's to next week, the start of a winning streak. This team can win the Big East.

Let's Go Orange. War Damn Otto.

Would be curious what the YAC stats was for both teams. USC seemed to gain yards after every single catch. Also those pitches and catches that Barkely threw for TD's were unstoppable for the most part. Not saying we had perfect defensive position on each one, but those throws were spot on.

We had 5 penalties. That wasn't a problem.

I don't know if it was their speed vs. our guys just being juked out several times leading to much bigger plays than should have been. Speilman commented about this a few times...along with just some flat out poor/sloppy tackling when the game was still there for the taking.

If the game was in the Dome, no way SC fans travel in droves as they did for this game in the Big City. Obviously, Syracuse is not the same destination city as NYC!

They have 1st round talent, they are faster then us. Maybe not by a lot but it would have been more noticeable at the dome. The fact we played good defense for awhile also made it seem as if they weren't as talented as they are

Really you wanted USC on a fast track? The only thing different is that we would be $5 million poorer.

I'll bet $10 "crusty" never attended braska '84, florida'92, or va tech'98. Actually I'll bet $1,000 on it. Terrible terrible post.

To be honest i was impressed with their TD catches because we had good coverage on all but one. Syracuse looked equally as athletic on both sides of the ball tonite...a completely different story than last year. Wht a difference a year makes. Barkley has never once had pressure like that on him. If we wold fix the missed tackles than most of their big plays tonite would have resulted in tackles for loss. This team has turned the corner, just not in the win column yet. We should be able to win The big east.

No doubt. That's what happens when fatigue sets in. That Xavier Grimble is a BEAST though. 6'5, 250 who runs a sub-4.5. SU is making strides and positive attention like you say.

I noticed this too. From the 'look' test SU belongs. They were not "equally" athletic but it wasn't some glaring mismatch and it was closer than I thought in terms of closing the talent gap. Progress is happening.

This is DG's strategy to get us some nice facilities, so suck it up and deal with it for the next few decades. All about the payday...

Replacing the Dome?

Did it ever occur to anyone that maybe our players played better at Met Life? Maybe they were fired up to play in an NFL stadium, and it helped them to play better? Not the same ol, same ol Dome. Maybe they arose to the occasion of a big game, on national TV in a big stadium. Not to take anything away from their performance. But to say they would play better in the dome, not necessarily. Maybe the opposite was true today.

The way the dome clears out at halftime when they dont think we have a shot, please. I just don't get this "we would have won" thing, I know everyone hates losing but a lot of the kids we recruited are actually from that area, im sure they were more than inspired to come out and play hard in front of friends and family. It's time for us to take the positives from this, if we continue to get better on special teams and cut down those penalties we have a legit shot to win the big east.
