coaches are major concerns. Our OL has a lot Senior depth and their is talent on that line that is underachieving.
Why is our OL underachieving? As I got to give Lester his props again. Our offense has been really solid under Lester. However our OL is constantly getting blown up on plays. I don't blame the OC one iota for this. I would say our OL coach leaves a lot to be desired though.

On defense I see talent on the DL and LBs but our secondary is either I-AA level talent or the coaching is atrocious. Everyone picks on Whigham but I don't see any players getting better. When we got Morgan I thought he would be a real stud DB but he has regressed. Cordy and Scissum are iffy. Why can't the DB coach develop the talent?

Front 7 has underachieved as well. IMO Hodge regressed last year and hasn't been much of a factor this year. Franklin was a stud last year and hasn't done as well this year. I feel like the DTs are not getting as many TFLs as last year either. The tackles coming from the DL were down coming into the UVA game. But some of the DL regression is definitely youth. The DEs and Bennett are the only bright spots on D this year.

Our offensive line was overrated, because in 2012 we had a running back in Jerome Smith who ran hard, and picked up extra yards. If PTG doesn't go nuts in the bowl game, we were pedestrian in run blocking. Having seniors in Ryan, Lemon, and Sales allowed Hackett to mask their weakness, with his fast paced system. In 2013 you had 2 running backs in the game in Smith, and Hunt who ran over people, and made the line look better then they were.
Then last year, Hunt gets tossed,and we saw how bad they were against Villanova.
