I think the Penn State fanbase is starting to come around

The crazy thing is most of that is coming from WOMEN who are supposed to be the more sympathetic sex. The entire university needs to be shut down for some time to bring it back to reality.

Ridiculous.

Yeah, those replies do shock me a bit.

I really believe they need to shut down the program for a few years...just to reset everything.

The BOT is no better they just used toned down rhetoric.

The scary thing is that these are supposed to be educated people. Shows what a Ped State education gets you. These people make me absolutely sick, and this shows you why the program needs to be shut down for a couple years. No control, no logic, no empathy for the vitims,,,just people feeling bad for themselves and their patheToc football team. What happened to humanity?

Seriously, what happened to humanity where blinded folks like yourself try to associate some causal link between the education at Penn State and the shameless decisions that these 'educated' people made? Your level of ignorance doesn't fall far behind the immoral decisions these adult men and women made to overlook such a disgusting case.

Awww do i smell a penn state grad? Its ok... Its almost as good of a school as rutgers. Hardly a casual link when you dont hear ANYONE from the university with an opposing view. And dont be a D bag,

Jerry Sandusky PSU '66 and '70
Tim Curley PSU '76 and '78
Gary Schultz PSU '71 and '75
Cynthia Baldwin PSU '66 and '68
Steve Garban PSU '59
Mike McQuery PSU '97
Jack Raykovitz PSU '79 and '83
etc.

If you're not sure who these people are, just read the Freeh Report.

At the end of the day, these are just kids caught up in a whirlwind with no sane adults around to guide them/lead them. They are college kids and they have not yet retrieved their brains from the national college student brain repository, where all student brains are stored until age 25.

Right, all PSU alumni are taught to overlook pedophiles. Take a timeout somewhere my friend and think about what you're saying.

Maybe not all alumni but certainly most of the ones posting on message boards or commenting on articles. That fact has now been established.

I had never listened to that, although I had heard it discussed. Wow, he really let her have it. She didn't get it then, and still doesn't get it, based on her tweets. Sadly, it seems that she is more the norm with respect to the thinking of PSU-related people as opposed to the exception. I don't think this group-think will ever go away for those currently involved with PSU. It will take a new generation with an unbiased opinion to look at this and be disgusted. I wonder if 5 years will be enough...

Was checking out black shoes diary, regarding vacating some of the Penn STate wins

I just don’t get it. Why vacate wins? It’s not like he cheated, yes, what he did in some sense is worse than that,

I guess only in "some sense" is what he did worse than cheating.

You can't make people rational. You can't legislate common sense. Folks that don't get it now, are not going to get it regardless of what the NCAA decides to do. Give them their punishment and move on.

Their attitude comes from their trustees. This is from an ESPN.com story:

"Unbelievable," said a Penn State trustee informed of the NCAA statement, speaking to ESPN.com senior writer Don Van Natta Jr. "Unbelievable, unbelievable."

The Penn State trustees' hope that the statue's removal might send a positive message was trumped by the NCAA, which had already decided.

"Emmert has been given full reign by the pansy presidents (at other universities) to make his own decision," said the trustee, who spoke on condition of anonymity. "He has been given the authority to impose these unprecedented sanctions. It's horrible."

Wow. Just. Plain. Wow.

Not only do they need the death penalty, but they need to wipe out the entire BOT and start from scratch. Culture is to ingrained for any rehabilitation, as evidenced by this statement.

DOES. NOT. GET. IT.

I watched the Carton clip yesterday, and usually I'm not a big fan of the condescending stuff to younger people (maybe because I still like to think of myself that way) but he was totally right. But then again, you have adults (like this chicks parents) who agree with her. So I don't really know.
