Its determined that at some point, it was known within the PSU athletic department that Sandusky was trading boys for donations to Second Mile...and then at some point, Second Mile was then donating $ to be used for recruiting purposes or to fund PSU athletic department projects.

Which essentially means that Penn State football was being funded by a series of child rapes. At that point, I think the NCAA steps in and would be under an extreme amount of pressure to issue the death penalty.

They don't even need to go that far, right? If there is a finding that Second Mile was a criminal conspiracy to prostitute minors, then PSU doesn't need to have known that to become a co-conspirator, if their coverup allowed the organization to escape scrutiny and continue operation. JOC or IthacaMatt or another of our attorneys - is that the case?

i think jake is thinking in terms of ncaa action, not legal stuff

Wow. Worst case scenario. I couldn't even fathom that was what was happening. If something like that is really true, everyone of them needs to be put away for the rest of their life.

It could get even worse if all of the above is true + someone at Penn State is found to have had something to do with Gricar's disappearance.

Another vary damning scenario is if it is found out that Paterno had a direct hand in strong-arming Gricar in 98 and is convicted of obstruction of justice.

How about if some of the 'wealthy donors' were BOT members?

I think you'd need to find someone beside Sandusky with PSU ties that was directly involved with the rapes or (alleged/rumored) trafficking to support a possible death penalty. Not convinced that the coverup of a single persons crimes would do it.

I'd be interested to see if there is a Code of Conduct for the Big 10. It might be feasible that PSU is booted from the conference because of this.

The overall worst case scenario is more severe than the above IMO. I am thinking a little larger.

Here is a tie. The President of the second mile is a shrink receiving his Phd from PSU in 85, I am willing to bet he spent more than a few afternoons in Spaniers game suite. Now, who else was hanging out with them?

He may have a practice in State College but that needs to be confirmed
Again this only my opinion.

Second Mile and PSU are VERY intertwined. No official connection but a strong and deep affiliation for sure.

The amazing thing to me is no longer that I've been hoping this is the outcome for the last two days, it's that there are people that have thought up even more damaging senarios to PSU. I'm growing more convinced that Kaiser is right, and a mysterious suicide is in Sandusky's future...
