I suppose its possible that with all the holiday tourney games going on around all parts of North America, involving multiple games per day, the referee corps are stretched thin. Perhaps he'll re-retire in a week.

Last year he did 34 games and of those, six involved Syracuse. That seems to be a very high proportion. The only one we lost was the Notre Dame game which I remember clearly as I had to watch it on Jet Blue flying back from Barbados. Of course the plane landed early and we missed the last couple minutes. Pretty painful.
