I told you so: No truth to Academic Eligibility rumors

I ever believed any of it in the first place.

The only thing I worry about is Dion finishing the semester strong while attending NBA try-outs in the spring. Based on our current APR, I dont believe we can afford one more slip-up.

I may be wrong, but I thought I saw somewhere SU was 100% last year.

I took it as serious as I took the scoop point shaving rumor from last year.

Yes, that is correct. However, the true APR is a 4 year rolling average. Syracuse mens basketball is currently at 928.

The new rule requires a rolling average of 930. Of course, this new rule will be implemented over a 5 year period so I dont know what next year's minimum requirement will be.

Why do you think we have 8 walk-ons this season? ;)

I don't think anybody (at least to my knowledge) said with any conviction that people were going to be ineligible. There was definitely a rumor out there that multiple people, including myself, heard. Was it the same thing we hear around second semester a lot? Probably. But its not like the Tyree Smallwood eligibility thing on the football side where we had people in both camps. This was one of those..."heard a rumor, don't know if its true, hope its not" things.

Only scholarship players. Good thing for UCONN Drummond is a walk-on so he doesn't have to attend class at all. Their APR is already in the shitter so that will help them big time.

Wow never thought of that.

Calhoun does it again...

I can't go into details because I don't have them, but there were definite reasons to be concerned about Fab for this semester, as recently as last week. I heard this from two somewhat well-connected people. Glad it all worked out.
