First of all - I had no idea that Harper Lee was still alive (sidenote: if my wife and I had a daughter instead of a son, one of the names we were thinking was Harper, because we both adore Mockingbird).

Second of all - this is huuuuuge literary news. Absolutely monumental.

"Go Set a Watchman" was completed in 1950 and put aside. It is a "To Kill a Mockingbird" sequel. Scout is an adult woman - 20 years later.

that's kinda funny. my wife just asked me this week if we had a copy of "mockingbird" and i was amazed she'd never read it.

(of course i had both the book and dvd movie but would never dream of letting her watch before reading.)

How does that happen?! Not even Lee thought much about it. She assumed it was lost.

This is like finding the lost, color (and clear) version of the moon landing tapes. This is HUGE!!!!

Ha, well we went with an Irish name instead. But we have agreed that the next dog we own is probably going to be named Atticus.
