I have not read the entire thread, but it's about the entire body of work.  Of course winning conference titles (regular or tourney) will naturally improve your resume via the individual W/L's,  but the titles themselves will not add to it.

I really have not spent much time on the #1 line this year.    I posted last night that I was hoping Duke could fall to the #2 but I would look at it today.

Duke - 6-2 vs top 25

Duke also has 4 top 25 road wins which is damn impressive (Wisconin, Virginia, UNC, Louisville) so it also is worth something.   Although Virginia has wins at Maryland, VCU and UNC which is also pretty damn impressive.

Advantage - Duke

Virignia 8-3

Now Duke does have one loss outside of the top 50 while Virignia is not.   And when your separting teams with 3 or 4 losses, with similar confernece schedules. that matters as well.

Close to a draw, but Duke's extra elite win -- basically their head to head win, puts them ahead in my view.   Very slight.

But Virignia may also still be a #1 seed as well.
