From where I sit, I've seen nothing to show JB did anything wrong. More evidence has shown that his words were ill chosen, but I see nothing more than that.

A suspension is an indication of guilt, in this case it would tell the world that JB was aiding and abetting a pedophile.

Fine is at the least, a freak, and at worst, a pedophile. Hes gone, let the justice system do its job.

I would be livid if JB is brought down in this storm that Fine created.

Bottom Line, JB screwed this up from day 1 and if it ends badly, he has nobody to blame but himself. He should have NEVER have come out so strong in support of Fine. But he did, so you deal with it from there. So today, when the audio came out JB needed to get his face on camera apologizing to accusers and saying he was wrong. It would have taken 3 minutes and been over with. By not speaking today and now not speaking tonight, he didn't get ahead of this story. Now he is letting the media dictate the story. And JB is just a character in the story and not driving the story where it needs to be. JB messed up royally every step of the way.

People are fired everyday for their words. I don't think they are ready for the storm that would follow..

He's an employee of the institution. If he doesn't want to be here, he's free to walk. If the University doesn't want him here, it's free to dismiss him.

As a Syracuse University fan, there's no "forgiving" the University. He's the coach of my team until he's not. At that time, I'll be a fan of the next coach of my team.

I don't get this (predicted) animosity toward SU. This is an SU fan forum - the only reason Boeheim matters to any of us is because we're Syracuse fans.

people get fired for words that damage the place they work for. Does what JB said really do that to SU? probably only for people who really look down at the school already, for most open minded people it doesnt. Most here supported him which is surprising with so many now thinking he will get fired.

I don't blame JB for supporting Fine.

There were 3 independent investigations that resulted in no action against Fine. JB now sees this guy who was shot down 3 times come back again on the heels of the PSU scandal.

Based on that, where exactly was JB 'lose his job wrong'?

Davis said one thing that JB apparently knew to be false, regarding visiting the hotel room. Why wouldn't he assume that the rest were lies too?

He's not Paterno, he defended his friend.

Bad choice, yes. Lose his job, no.

JB is old fashioned. Hes going to stand by his friends.
Hes always ran the program like that even with his past players.

Davis didn't just tell a lie it was the first thing he said about JB.

JB will be fine.

I couldn't disagree with you more. A lot of people who know Fine came to his defense, including a lot of ex-players. I admire JB for coming to the defense of his long-time friend especially when he knew a number of the accusations were clearly lies.
He has absolute;y nothing to apologize for in my eyes.

A lot of people don't hold the position JB holds. Or have the power JB has. JB is in a different position and needed to act more responsibly. Period.

Syracuse University is much more important than its basketball coach. If SU determines that JB needs to go, then I'll continue to support SU and be sad for JB at the same time.

Didn't jb just issue a statement saying he was sorry? Did I dream that? Jb isn't going to fired over this.

Disagree, at least personally. This is not a pro team...a coach who has been around for 5-6-10 years. For most of us, there is NO Syracuse without Boeheim. Syracuse basketball without Boeheim on the sideline is a foreign concept. My loyalties are fairly evenly divided in that regard.

If Syracuse fires Boeheim...will I still support the University? I suppose. I'm not getting another alma mater. But its going to take a while for the numbness to subside.

If Boeheim was going to be fired, he wouldn't have released a statement through the university 15 minutes ago.

Boeheim has done nothing wrong here, he defended his lifelong FRIEND, which I would do for any of my true friends. He knew nothing about Bernie's alleged wrongdoing, so he stepped up to the plate for him. You are NOBODY'S Friend !!!

Boeheim supporting Fine based on information he had at that time is ok. His mistake was calling accusers liars. Whether that will come back to bite him, I don't know. It would not hurt for him to say my comment was a mistake. Regardless, he should keep comment to minimum and just coach.

As a person, though, I totally understand his emotion. One of your best friend of 50 years is accused w/o proper information in front of him. Of course he will stand up for him. If he doesn't, he's not a man.

Your hind sight is amazing. JB did act responsibly. Its your opinion he didn't and that is all it is, an opinion and a bad one at that. New facts, new landscape and JB re-evaluated as any normal person would. He called liars, liars. That is what you get when you filter lies into your story. Thats what you get when you give a tape to ESPN and not SU and not the authorities. I am still wondering how much of the tape was cut and splice. ESPN apparently didn't know if it was legit. At least I hope that is what they thought by sitting on it. JB though should have known all this due to his exceptional ESP.
