I will never wonder about DC's minutes again

sorry but big frog didn't even make it back to the paint on a few of those dunks.

He just isn't getting this whole defense thing

Patience. It's good that he struggles now. It's good that all the centers struggle now. Get the competition fired up early.

It isn't good that anyone struggles now.

I'd say it's better to struggle now, figure out and mend issues, and then better ourselves for conference play.

I was rolling deep on the Coleman bandwagon last night but dude was running like someone tied a parachute to his back today.

I'd say it would be better now, and get better. To each his own.

I've been a big DC backer, but his defense last night was pitiful. I still think he's our best rebounder and can be a low post presence for us, given some more time & little longer leash. He's big, strong and nimble for a guy his size. He just needs to slow down when he catches the ball down low and then make his move to the bucket. I hope he learns to play some defense, because I think he can be a real asset for this team.

finally. now if everyone else can just smarten up... we can end the "DC should pay" threads.
I was dead wrong about Cooney, and Im glad... but DC2 is just not good. People see his effort and mistake that for skill.

Even this is a little too harsh for me. Against the Gophers he played well on both ends for a significant percentage of his minutes .. to my great surprise! Looking forward to see him banging with the larger front line of Baylor.

Last night:

Christmas - 4 pts & 2 rebs in 18 minutes
Keita - 4 pts & no rebs in 19 minutes
DC - 0 pts & 1 reb in 12 minutes

Season:
Christmas - 4.8 ppg, 3.8 reb, 1.7 bpg in 20.3 min
Keita - 2.5, 3.8 & 0.7 in 15.7 min
Coleman - 5.8, 5.3 & 0.7 in 15.2 min per game

of the 6 games to date, Coleman has had 3 very good games, 1 complete stinker, and 2 OK efforts. Coleman plays because he gives us more on the glass and on the offensive end than the other 2 guys. He also shoots the highest % from the floor of the 3. I'm not saying he's Wilt Chamberlain out there, but there's a reason he plays. Keita & Christmas are significantly better defenders than he is at this point, but Coleman is the best rebounder on the team. If DC is "just not good" as you say, then please tell me why Keita & Christmas are just so much better & should be on the floor at all times.

Coleman gives up twice as many points as he scores. He is a liability as a whole. its not close. Accept it man. Keita or Rak will play every minute that matters late in games because Jimmy B wants to win.

And as for rebounding, there arent many to go around when DC2 is in because his man drives past him for a layup or dunk 90% of the time.

but he didnt man... He would score, and then his guy would score three times in a row. Sorry. I know we all want Coleman to succeed, but we have two much better options this year.

I specifically asked you for reasons why Rak or Keita deserve to be in over Coleman and you gave me reasons why Coleman doesn't deserve to be in. This tells me everything I need to know about your stance. You have it out for Coleman and point out his shortcomings, but you can't provide any quality reasons why someone else should be in over him. Rather than say Rak is a good shot blocker, or Keita is the best communicator in the zone, you say "DC is a liability." Do you honestly believe that DC gives up twice as many points as he scores? That would mean JB would leave him in there to give up 5-6 opposing baskets, where he did not do his job. JB gives him 1, mayyyybe 2 chances and then yanks him. You're exaggerating just how poor his defense is. And let's not forget Baye fouled out in 12 minutes a few games ago. Bill Russell, he is not.

And thank you for furthering my point about how good a rebounder he is. If there are LESS rebounds to go around while DC is in and he's averaging 1.5 MORE than the other 2 centers in less minutes, then he must be a great rebounder. Less rebounds available, yet he grabs more.

You have an issue with DaJuan. I do not know what it is, or why, but it's a bit ridiculous. If you're going to argue why he should be on the bench, tell us why others should be playing in his place.

Come on Doc. both Rak and Baye overall are more effective in the middle of that zone and it's not close. We all Want Coleman to succeed but, let's face facts-he still looks lost out there.

I agree Coleman is not good in the middle of the zone, but Baye was awful last night defensively as well. Rak looked great. I have no issue with any of our 3 bigs. JB is sticking with the guy who is playing well and last night it was Rak. He was impressive. I just feel it's unfair to completely dismiss Coleman when helps on the glass and is able to put the ball in the bucket at times.

I don't see him getting the whole offense thing either. Or the rebounding thing for that matter. Or even the FT shooting thing yet.

IMHO, he may have a very short window to get his game together. If not, once the conference season starts, it is going to be Xmas and Keita and Grant rotating at the 4-5 spots. Next year, add McCullough and Obokoh as incoming, and Roberson at the 4 as he develops. At some point, potential must be converted to real production, or it fades quickly. Up or out. That's the cruel reality of college athletics.

With each passing game that he fails to produce, the chances of him transferring goes up.
