to a beautiful autumn day which was the best thing to happen to me than anything I endured over the previous 12 hours. After the game last night I was in the worst possible mood, having witnessed what many on this board have chronicled and analyzed in depth today.
My faith in DM as the savior of the program has been shaken. My hope for a successful season (defined by many as a minimum of 6 wins and a bowl appearance) took a serious blow. My love of Syracuse Football has not been diminished. Sure it hurts to invest so much emotional capital in an institution that has crapped all over my expectations; however, I choose not to take a “what have you done for me lately” approach.
For the remainder of today and over the next two weeks, my life will go on. For my own mental health I will not obsess over the shortcomings of our team. Luckily in the sports world I have two other teams (Giants & Yanks) that will hopefully not treat me as poorly as Syracuse has recently done. If they do…so what!! My life outside of Syracuse Football will be my primary focus.
Of course I will continue to read OE’s daily articles with interest and enjoy the passionate opinions of the informed and knowledgeable board members and throw my 2 cents in as appropriate. Come Friday Oct. 5 at 7PM I will make another installment on my emotional investment in our team and hope for the best. LGO!
