I would give anything to have a low-post threat on this year's team... an AO or Otis Hill type. The fact that winning this game tonight is predicated on whether our slew of average outside shooters can make outside shots is SO frustrating.

Yup, its our main problem

Gtown is 2-3 zoning us. Harder to score inside against the zone.

IMO Problem hasn't been offense. Offense has been ok. We are a ez layup from Melo and a inside the rim and out ball from Joseph from being tied.

Problem is Gtown utilizing the whole floor on offense. Our D has to start taking some spots away if we want a clear win.

Melo isn't going anywhere without an inside game. He's gonna play in the NBA with height alone? He'd have to be an idiot to go this year. But then again, he's done enough stupid things already to prove he's got a dysfunctional pre-frontal cortex and can't make long term decisions.

The NBA is full of 10 year 7'00" centers who have no offensive game.

gtown playing stall ball and getting good looks. Stall ball plus good looks adds to boring close games.

Melo could be the guy but for whatever reason we don't try to set him or feed him.

You don't think rebounding is a bigger issue?
this team just doesn't have the grit to get in and bang except Melo and Fair, we have a ton of height but no bruiser to get under the Tim and pull down boards!

I agree 100%...give Melo a shot down low instead of just jacking up threes all night. They don't even try to get the ball in to him.

Even if they just used him to kick back out for the three it would be useful.

I agree the art of feeding the post is lost. Melo right now isn't a Hakim or Arinze, but he does have some low post skills of when he gets the ball. We fall into the same trap that most teams do and fall in love with the outside shot, almost like we don't have patience enough to feed the post. This has been evident long before this year and definitely isn't just an SU issue. I remember the Pitt game Hak's senior year when we were up 7-8 with 8 minutes left and Hakim literally didn't get a pass the rest of the game and we ended up losing.

Feeding the post seems to only be fun when it is an alley oop or some other "exciting" play.

Its big but were not as bad as were showing tonight, id take a low post scorer first

They said at halftime SU ranks 134th in terms of allowed offensive rebounds allowed. Actually think Melo is a better option than given credit for and we should try to get it to him more often.

334th, not 134th.

I heard them say 334th and just assumed they meant 134 cuz there aren't 334 d-1 teams, are there?

Unfortunately there are 344 of them
