With Frank and Dajuan specifically getting increased run. And with the shackles off Frank, so we can see what he can do in game action. Would also like to see Kaleb Joseph get a little time. Not expecting much out of him, but this postseason is essentially spring training for next season.

What's the point with Joseph. I hate to give up on a kid, but he can't crack the rotation on a depleted team. I think he's a prime transfer candidate. Put your chips in Howard's basket at this point in time.

Silent G and Cooney will still get there 37 min.

Why even go to the NIT?
Hope JB lets the team vote and they unanimously turn down the invite. This isn't football where we need the extra practices.

Won't happen and wouldn't be a good idea. Howard, Lydon and Mal need as much experience as possible, especially in a tournament setting.

We're a one and out NIT team. Get a home game because of the Dome, probably lose to Monmouth or someone like that in front of 8,000 fans. I think we have a better chance of winning a game in the dance if we are lucky enough to make it.

You don't turn down the nit, but I can't see this team getting up for an Nit game say against a Hofstra.

The team took a decent mocking today, but are the current real life fans in CNY as bad(spoiled) as the ones as this board? I'd like to hope not.

Not spoiled just realistic. Whenever SU has limped into the NIT it seems they have fallen flat and lost to a team that is actually excited to be in the NIT. Bottom line is players don't come to SU to play in the NIT. If that's spoiled so be it.

I dont disagree with any of that, but was commenting on only 8,000 fans showing up for the last home game of the season. I get the whole anti-climatic thing for both players and fans, but with JB's career nearing an end, I would hope the dome could draw more than that.

Where are you getting this?

1997: first round

2002: final four

2007: final eight

2008: final eight

It's not amazing success, but other than 1997, I see no evidence that the team has not taken the NIT seriously.

No...prepare for 35+ minutes of G and Cooney running to near exhaustion.
"They give us our best chance to win", after all- and they NEVER get tired, right? :bang::mad::crazy:

Why don't we play the Division 3 National winners too! uGH

Really?

As seniors, you really think G and Cooney will just say "nah, we don't feel like putting the Syracuse uniform on anymore"?

Whether they're disappointed or not, they put themselves in the position they are in. If it's the NIT, so be it. Go out and win it.

They should say thanks but no thanks to the NIT. It is a money losing proposition to open the dome for 10,000.

I think they should go. We are disappointed that this season didn't turn out better, but I think you make the best of a situation. If we are not invited to the NCAA, I think we can all agree we will get an invite to the NIT. Pick your head up and play your best. no matter the circumstances. I hope this team has taken that lesson away from this season.

It is laughable to think that JB would decide to let inexperienced players play in the NIT. The most stubborn person in Syracuse isn't going to change now. Cooney will probably go 8-10 from 3 because nothing is on the line either.
