If if we're on the road for an entire season

Just to derail this a little bit, is there a real chance of this being a possibility??

If it happened, I'm sure we'd play in Buffalo either at the Ralph or UB's stadium, a game or two at Schoellkopf Field in Ithaca, and then games at Yankee Stadium, Metlife or even Fenway as mentioned.

I'd also imagine this would be awful for keeping the casual fan interested.

Play only domes or really great weather locations - Dino Baber's Barnstorming Tour and Aerial Circus - Take a page from the Great Waldo Pepper

wha-wha-WHAT???!!

playing there is fine, but having it count as 1 of the 6 or 7 home games we will have is ridonkulous.

if we're on the road may as well make some good road trips home team or away team. You guys are bonkers thinking a home game at Ithaca would be more attractive to a bigger segment of fans than a home game at Fenway. Conventional wisdom will be thrown out the window if it's 100% road games.

If I what I am hearing is correct we won't be giving up any home games but number of seats may decrease.

really ? a home game at cornell 25-30K 29,500 SU fans.. home game at fenway at most 38K of which how many would be BC fans? you think 25K Su fans go for a non bowl game? perhaps if we are 11-0 but if we are a 6-8 win team maybe 10K?

Please make it easy for me and play them all in Buffalo. UB's stadium would probably be all we need. It's a 2 and a half hour drive from Syracuse.

Do you realize how many STH's would sell/eat their tickets if a home game was moved from Ithaca to Boston? The amount of people who would not attend would be incredibly high. Sure, it would be great for NE alumni (which includes me), but I think a conservative estimate of Syracuse-based STH's who attend would be around 25-30%.

Yes...most likely all of Sept. and then bye weeks kick in

no. having games at Fenway is worse than having games at MetLife. The amount of SU fans that live in close proximity to Fenway that would make the trip would likely be mostly fairweathers that live close by. If we do have to go on the road I say either convert NBT Bank Stadium to a football field or keep all the games at Ralph or Cornell

Hey! HEY!!!

by the way, if Syverud is able to pull all of this off: A+ hire of Coyle, rescued the football team, gets us through NCAA sanctions, dome renovation and managing all of the athletics scheduling it requires, the new Vet Medical Facility and bring SU back to the academic notoriety it was built on...He will deserve his own statue on the plaza next to Ben Schwartzwalder

Exactly what I've heard.
Will there be fewer seats due to the fact they will be replacing the bleachers with individual seats or will they be installing boxes/suites in the 200/300 level in the basketball end of the dome?

Fewer seats and individual. Suites above pull out section for b-ball. Bunker suites around b-ball court. (Like Pitt).

There will be 44,000 seats and the Hotel will have rooms with a view and the Basketball court will be moved to the Center of the Dome is preliminary.
