All it took was the first year of this 4 team playoff system to create the same controversy/debate as before.  The BCS was better than the process before and this is better than the BCS.  All that means is we will go to 8 sooner than we think (they can always renegotiate when more money is involved) and then we go to 16 soon after that.

In my humble opinion, the conference championships are vulnerable at that point because I have to believe the money will dictate what happens.  Right now the attendance is mediocre.  The regular season will still mean something and then more teams can participate in the playoffs, generating more money.  It also allows for maybe 2 or even 3 non-Power 5 conference teams in the mix, which adds to the potential drama of an upset (think March Madness).
