This is an interesting topic. I know G5 was asked. 1- The big fishes that are possibly attainable at some point is ND and Texas. Those are both the number 1 options, no one else is close. But, highly unlikely for either one. I think if one committed, maybe the other one would commit but I don't see it happening unless the Big 12 does something that really irritates Texas. 2- If as we believe, those two are unattainable the next best option would be WVU which I think would be attainable and I truly believe they would come if offered. Louisville getting into the conference with their academic history makes this much more conceivable to believe the ACC might actually invite WVU. It would bring back a Syracuse Rival and a Pitt Rival. Pretty decent programs in both basketball and football. Dare I say, it would be fun to play and beat WVU again. 3- Finally to the G5 teams that was asked. The three finalists for me would be Houston, Memphis, and Cincy. -My first choice, Houston. They have the number 8 television market, the only ACC market with higher number of viewers is New York. They have a decent football program and with Kelvin Sampson, they have been a very decent basketball program. It would get into a market that the ACC is not currently in, more viewers. It would also open Texas for recruiting, who knows how many players would actually leave texas but it is a very fertile location and new recruiting territory. The only downsize in my mind is that they are not really close to the ACC locations like the other two schools -Second choice would be either memphis or Cincy. Not sure which one I would pick. For some reason Memphis intrigues me more but Cincy is probably the better choice of the 2. Cincy has a larger television market, more fertile recruiting ground, slightly closer to other schools, and has a history with more of the schools then Memphis. Both programs are pretty equal in both football and basketball, memphis might have a slight edge in fanbase though. But with everything else said, I have to say Cincy would be the pick over Memphis. 4- Lastly, I don't understand the UCF and USF people. Decent football programs, but they don't give the ACC anything they don't already have. They both have bad basketball programs, we are already in Florida with Miami and FSU. We don't need more Florida teams to dilute the product, dilute recruiting. Plus the fanbases are almost non existent at USF. And outside of Orlando and relatively recently no one has cared about UCF. USF and UCF just doesn't do it.
