If you could choose one player from last year for this year's team

Cant argue with Reddish.
But i'll say eskridge, size, made plays, had some moxie, etc
I'll go with him

Definitely Eskridge. I think Jarrod West deserves a shout as well.

Reddish or Eskridge but I would learn towards Eskridge - a healthy Eskridge.

I'm editing my post - I agree with most of the others and have changed to Reddish.

100% Reddish. Safeties are not our problem, CB is the biggest weakness on the team [Winfield notwithstanding].

For me it's Reddish in a landslide. He was as close to a shutdown corner as we've had in a while. I actually like the play of our safeties (for the most part). Reddish makes a difference in that LSU game.

Agreed. If we have Reddish, one of the safeties could shade to other side (Whigham/Whitfield) of the field. It would also allow DCHB to be more creative with blitz packages.

Reddish.

Though I was tempted to say Desir simply because I miss being able to take a leak when our opponents punted.

All kidding aside & thinking outside the box, I'd actually choose...

...Custis with freshman eligibility. I'll preface this by saying that I'm "All In" with the staff & ultimately trust their decisions, but I just can't help but think that we/they will come to seriously regret burning his RS last year by tossing him a few bubble screens (will never understand that, it's literally the opposite of his skill-set).

I've watched all available video on Custis, from HS/AAU football & hoops footage, to seeing him live at Fan Fests, & Spring Games. I feel strongly that he is right on the cusp of "getting it" with his mental/understanding catching up to his physical attributes. He's made noticeable improvements in his stride/fluidity, as well as his physique since last season...he's got great muscle mass, especially in his lower body, for his height. He seems to have a great field awareness when he runs routes & body control for his size is something that's hard to teach. He also seems to be an aggressive, willing, & capable blocker...an improvement from last year. Certainly not comparing the 2 at this stage, but watching TCU's Doctson just toy with Texas today, I see similarities. He's been targeted 3 times in 2015 resulting in a beautiful 39 yd catch over the middle (biggest play of the Spring Game), TD on the fade vs CMU, & another catch of a fade in the end zone vs LSU where he wasn't able to keep a foot in. Both fades were actually thrown a bit flat, not allowing him to use his height & high point, but he caught each. I was really hoping the deep ball in the SG was a sign of how he'd be used more this year...obv the season is young. I'm a few UCs deep & rambling but Idk, I just see so much potential.

Admins, if there's a separate Custis thread, feel free to move this. Actually, who am I to give you permission, you all run a great site here...do whatever you deem fit...I'll keep pounding UCs & chasing them with ND fan tears regardless . GO ORANGE autocorrect is clutch

Rec Yards Avg. Long TD

Jamal Custis 1 7 7.0 7 (TD) 1

I just want to make sure I've got the right guy. I'll give you credit, that's certainly outside the box thinking.

In the context of the upside, it was a well-written post. Especially as a victim of too many UC's!

Fair enough. But, if we're including "targets" in the stats, he's about 6 inches (I know, horseshoes & hand grenades) from being 2-targets/2 TDs. When I look at him, I just see an untapped resource.

Ashton Broyld. Because he was so effective. I'm joking. I think this may have been an addition by subtraction thing.
