Lets assume that for Bryant to come G has to declare. Lets also assume that next year would be the last year for each of them. So do you take Bryant as a one and done frosh or G?

Bryant. Don't know what to expect from him but don't like going into next year with Oboko and DC as our centers.

trick question

does Cooney play 35+ and jock block Mal's mins?

G. Not close. I cannot believe so many here want to get rid of a guy who has given us so much this year. If he decides to leave of his own accord with his degree, that is fine. But I do not want us to be pushing him out. Remember, some of these "can't-miss" kids... wind up missing big.

"Get rid of a guy" isn't quite A fair way to state it

If G plays this well next year he could challenge for ACC 1st team. If Bryant is a true one and done, he would be there.

But I'd rather see the payoff of G growi up. To top it off, if G leaves we return virtually no scoring punch (again) next year. He has a chance to be real special next year, and be our senior leader. Bryant would be great, but not nearly as fun to watch as another senior having an all acc season like Rak is having

I don't want to "get rid of him" but we have far more depth at Gs position than Bryant's.

We need both to be really good next year.

G would be the bigger loss, but Bryant would really shore up the 5 spot.

Agreed. No brainer.

We have plenty of options at the 5.

And I am desperate to land Bryant, but I believe we can survive him not coming here with the talent on hand, and also that G will be that much more important to next year's teams fortune.

I wouldn't say plenty. Nobody knows what to expect from DC and Diange, McCullough is very very thin for the position and Chinoso is still soooooo far away. I don't like the outlook of the center position without Bryant.

I don't think I have seen one post where anyone was pushing him out the door. Some people think he won't be back. I do think he will be back. But that's just me. I think barring the NCAA doing something not funny, we will get both.

agree, its insane imo Never choose a freshmen over the team leader who will be ready to play sf, pg draw doubles and average atleast 16 points a game, for someone we don't even know is ready for the speed of college ball yet.

We also have diagne and mccullough to play some pinch 5, and roberson/mccullough will be no slouch with rebounding.

Not even a question. The kid who sat out a year to play on this team, and has continued to improve at whatever position he is asked to play. I want to see G play his last year of eligibility here without a doubt and will truly be disappointed if that doesn't happen. If he goes pro then I wish him the best, but no way that I want to see a freshman take his spot on the team without it being his choice to leave. He's been a joy to watch this year.

G by far. You don't need a dominant center to win (and Bryant doesn't appear to be ready to come in and be an Okafor at the 5), but having G allows SU to be very versatile next year. SU could absolutely use a lineup with Roberson, McCullough, G on the back of the zone and some combination of Cooney/Richardson/Joseph out top.

I'll take G. I should also say that I don't follow recruiting at all really nor have I seen any tape of Bryant

G no question, can play three positions for us and will be our go to guy next year. If it was two years of Bryant then I would reconsider...maybe

I don't see how this would even be a close question. G has proven he can be a versatile scorer, we don't have another proven player like him returning. We also have no idea how much improvement we are going to get out of Kaleb, so G gives us a HUGE insurance policy at the point guard position in case Kaleb comes back and still isn't ready.

We don't even know if Bryant will be good enough to get minutes next year. Who was the last frosh center that came in and actually starred, much less played big minutes? Yes, we're losing Christmas but if Bryant doesn't come, I think we'll have reasonable options at the position between Coleman, McCullough, Diagne and Obokoh. Worst case scenario Diagne starts and is backed up by a sophomore Obokoh.

IMO this year has proven that having a strong pg is more important in JB's system than having a strong center. Of course I would like to have both.

G staying or going has nothing to do with Bryant signing!! There will be a scholarship available for Bryant and it does not have to be Gs...

G. Bryant could be a one and done guy, but I like the odds that one year of 23-year old G would be better than one year of 18-year old Bryant.
